~ The Thoughts of A 2 Year Old ~

Lately, B's vocabulary is expanding even more and you never know what will come out of her lil mouth! Here are a few stories:

1) Last week it was so hot that by the time I got home I have to change clothes as soon as I walked in the door. So I would push my pants down as far as I could and then asked B to grab the legs and pull them off for me because I could not reach and it would hurt my stomach to try to lift my legs. This happened about 2-3 days. Well, this weekend I was changing from shorts to pants to run a quick errand and B starts jumping on the bed saying "Yeah mommy, GOOD JOB!" repeatedly. I didn't know why she was saying this at all, so I asked her "What did mommy do?". She says "You took your pants off AAAALLLLLLL by yourself!" and kept praising me for it. All I could do was just stand there and look at her and chuckle...she left me speechless & dumbfounded..it was hilarious!

2) A couple of weeks ago i had on a pair of shorts that had a drawstring and I didn't tie it. She comes up to me and says "I need to tie it mommy so baby sister doesn't come out". If she only knew!

3) This past weekend, I was sitting on the couch and my tank had rode up a little so my belly was showing just a little and she says "mommy, how come your belly always show, I pull your shirt down for you!". I just sat there again not knowing what to say to that...too funny.

Lately, all she talks about is her sister and says "When sissy gets here, she gonna wove [love] her room!". Everyday she talks about her with excitement, so we will see if that lasts when L gets here.

Other than that, she has been throwing horrible tantrums, and we are trying to figure out if it is related to lil sister or if this is just a 2 year old thing. Right now, we can't tell, but she spends so much time in trouble these days. Oh well, we keep telling ourselves this too is just a phase and will pass as some point! We love her so much!!

~ Strike A Pose...again ~

This is in my 35th week. I thought the first picture was kinda funny because this is usually how B and I are looking at each other when I am getting on to her...always a standoff!
Things are about the same, except I am even more uncomfortable trying to sleep at night and am definitely beginning to suffer from sleep deprivation; whoever said that doesn't happen until after the baby gets here was wrongo dongo! I am literally counting down the days until we get to meet her! Each night I alternate sleeping between the couch, bed, and recliner - yes, that is all in one night. The other night I started off in the bed, then went to the recliner, then sofa, and ended back in the recliner...anything to get some kind of sleep. The house is now set to a cool 67 degrees at night because I am burning up. Poor J is sleeping with all the covers he can get a hold of and hates crawling out of bed in the morning because he is freezing. LOL!

~ A Photo Op (with a 2 year old) ~

My aunt was kind enough to take some pregnancy pictures for us. It was a completely different experience than when I took them when I was pregnant with B - mainly because this time we had a 2 year old running around and not cooperating. Here are just a few pictures that I have been able to go through so far. I also included some of the candid ones to show how well B did not cooperate. Enjoy! This is at 34 weeks.

~ July 4th ~

We went to my parents for the weekend so they could help me with B while J worked. July 4th evening we went to see fireworks. All day, B was excited about fireworks and talked about them! We got to the park and she could see fireworks in the distance from another show that was going on and was loving it for a few minutes. Once our show started, it was a way different story. She got scared, covered her eyes, and climbed up into J's arms. She did not like the "boom" sound and would not lift her head up to give the show a chance - maybe next year! On the way back to my parents, she was pointing out all the fireworks going on in the sky, but said "Don't roll my window down!". She did not want to hear the noise still!

~ Babies, Babies, Babies ~

We threw a baby shower for a true best friend of mine! We have known each other since 7th grade, which puts that at about 16 years so far! She is having a boy and we are 5 days apart. No, we didn't plan this! Here are both our bellies and the cake I made for her shower. I have to say that I am pretty proud of this cake!

~ Me & Papaw ~

Just had to share this cute pic of B and Papaw M. B and I went out to my parents and stayed with them since J was busy at the ROT rally one weekend. Papaw and B went outside to watch the birds!

~ Strike A Pose ~

This pic was taken on June 6 (30 weeks). I am a little behind on posting it!
Things are still about the same, except for the 100 degree weather. I hurt every single day, can't sleep due to pain, and am having painful BH contractions. They are not supposed to be painful, but I beg to differ! I think I have pulled 2 more ligaments in my abdomen from driving and turning to check my blind spot.

At this point, I just want to meet this beautiful little girl and see B's reaction the first time she meets her! That is the only thing that keeps me going! I just CANNOT wait to experience that. The room is about as done as it is gonna get these days because I can't go out to look for the final decor and touches myself, and I am ok with that! Yep, you heard right, I am actually ok with something not being completely organized and ready the way I want it! J got the cradle down and I fixed the bedding on it! We can't even organize our room with the cradle and chair because I borrowed my sister's queen air mattress to sleep on since our bed is not firm enough and causes more back pain, so our room is full. J is doing a wonderful job keeping up with everything even though I know that I may not make him feel like it at times! He runs all the errands, does the dishes, cooks, cleans house, entertains B, and just about anything I leave on the to-do list including having to go get make-up when I ran out! I know he is getting worn down, but we are both hanging in there because we know the awesome payoff we get out of all of this in several weeks!

I am definitely at the point where people stare at you like you are about to give birth to a child in front of them.

This is my little rant since I can't actually say these things to people's faces:
Yes, I am big.
Yes, it is sweltering outside,
Yes, I waddle like a duck.
No, you don't have to stare like I am a circus side show.
Yes, it may be getting close to the date to some people, but it seems like eternity to me.
Yes, I know "things could be worse", but if I hear that phrase one more time I am liable to knock someone's lights out!
To strangers - No, I am not due any minute, but thanks for letting me know how you think I look!
Yes, I am a tad (well, more than a tad) cranky these days, but no sleep, pains everyday, chasing a 2 year old around that is just as stubborn as yourself, and not able to do much for yourself can kinda do that to a person!

I think I am done now! :)

~ FIRST Hair Cut ~

B had her first hair cut...yes, her first! Aunt Lisa came into town so it was the perfect time to visit and I have always wanted her to give B her first hair cut! We were very apprehensive at first because she was not acting nice. After we visited for a while, B began to calm down. I was nervous about how she would react to the scissors and everything, but once she discovered Aunt Lisa's spray bottle she kept herself busy for a while. She sprayed J while she was having her hair cut and Lisa a lot. It was enough to keep her tamed while she had her hair cut. I took before (on the left) and after (on right) pictures. There is not a huge difference because we just trimmed it, but in person you can tell it looks so much healthier!

~ Promotion Ceremony ~

J had his promotional pinning ceremony on Wednesday. I got to pin him and then they were sworn into their new position. My Mom and Dad came to share in this occasion and then we went to dinner afterward! We are all just so proud of him! Here are some pics...ENJOY!

~ An Old Friend ~

J called me at work to say how sneaky B is! She wanted candy this afternoon and so she got it out of our little candy bucket. She ate a couple of things and then shared some with J. After that it was nap time, so J put her to sleep and didn't have any problems. Well...when it was time to wake her up, he quickly noticed WHY he didn't have any problems with her not falling asleep after he left. Some how, some way, she found a "sappy" (aka Pacifier) in the candy bucket and sneaked it into her room. J said she was sound asleep with the sappy in her mouth and even turned the ring part of the pacifier up like she did when she used to use it all the time. It has been almost probably a year now since she has had one, but I guess she decided she needed an old friend. She obviously knew she wasn't suppose to have so she hid it...too funny. The only thing that is not funny is does this mean that I she will be stealing little sister's pacifier when she gets here??!!

~ Is it August ALREADY!!! ~

Here is a rundown of all that has been going on:

April 23 - Went to doc for an issue and was told to take it easy or he would make me take it easy.

April 30 - Went to doc and got better definition of take it easy. I am supposed to basically go to work and go home.

May 8 - Coould not walk from horrible pain in my stomach when I moved my legs at all. Called the doctor and said it was a tore or stretched ligament. Doctor said to stay in bed with my feet up for 3 days and do nothing.

May 11 thru May 18 - Still had ligament pain and not able to walk much. Started feeling a little better towards the end of the week. Worked from my bed at home most of the time during this week.

May 21 - Regular doctor appointment. Was told to still take it easy and that the ligament pain will come and go until I deliver. I am swelling up like a whale so bad that my hands and feet are turning red. The baby is measuring big so doc said that we will more than likely induce early due to her size and just to help me out some since I keep having issues.

May 25 - I began feeling light headed and like I may pass out at home that night. I figured that I was just tired so I just sat down a lot. My head started pounding so I took a 'happy pill' and went to bed.

May 26 - I went into work and started feeling like I would pass out constantly - something wasn't right. Once I felt ok enough to walk myself to our clinic, I did. My blood pressure was high (not extremely high, but high for me), blood sugar was on high side, was swelling, and had a low fever. All of that combined with not feeling the baby and the faint feeling earned me a trip to the ER. What a mess... So, I ended up at the ER, all vitals were still on the high side. They took me up to L&D and hooked me up to a couple of monitors to check on the baby. She was all good and moving like crazy! They told me that they believe that I had a virus and my body just reacted different due to the virus combined with the pregnancy. I went home, took Benedryl since there isn't much else that you take when pregnant, and slept for 4 hours! I woke up, ate, and just sat on the couch til it was bed time. I took another med and went to bed.

May 27 - I woke up and still didn't feel well so I called in sick. I took a Benedryl and slept another 4 hours.

June 1 - B got strep and J caught the virus from me.

It seems like something has happened almost every week for the past month, so now I am just waiting to see what happens next week...hahaha

In all seriousness, August seems so far away right now and I just hope that things will settle down. The ligament pain comes and goes, and I know that resting is the only thing that truly helps it subside. I don't want her coming early, but at the same time I don't want any more drama.

~ Camping on Memorial Weekend ~

My parents planned to go camping Memorial Day weekend and invited us. I am usually looking forward to going, but this weekend I was really excited. I think it was because I needed a small break from my constant perch on the couch or my bed at home! I am trying to even remember the last errand that I got to run outside the house!
We got there late Friday night. B did good on the drive there considering that we were on the road 3 hours due to traffic and a bad wreck. Saturday was a BIG day. B had her VERY FIRST ride on a boat! Papaw got her a life jacket and matching fishing pole. I am not sure who was more excited about that - Papaw or B. Doc cleared me to go as long as we went slow and the water was calm. Luckily for me, those were the exact conditions on Saturday!! B did just awesome on the boat and was not scared, although her method of fishing was a little unorthodox. We were going to put real bait on her reel, but she was perfectly happy throwing the fake fish into the water and reeling it in repeatedly.
Her and J went for a dip in the lake because B said she wanted to - that quickly changed once she was in the water. She wanted nothing to do with it and wanted out!
After the short-lived swim, J was holding B and I noticed that she couldn't keep her eyes open, so we headed back to shore. We couldn't stop laughing at her because she was just sitting there dozing off. Check out the video and you can see her falling to one side every few seconds - my belling was hurting from laughing so hard.
Sunday, after the rain cleared out, we sat at the picnic table so B could paint. She loves painting and always wants to do more! She made 5 masterpieces for us to enjoy.

~ A Single Rose ~

It's official! Brooke received her FIRST flower from a boy! Ty-ty as she calls him brought her a beautiful pink rose yesterday. We put it in water when we got home and are taking extra special care of it!

~ Nursery Countdown ~

Several weeks ago, we moved things around to start prepping the nursery, but there was still a ton to be done! With the surgery and me being out of commission myself, we haven't been able to focus on it since then. BUT we got the bedding in this week, and started painting last night (well - J did the painting while B and I played dolls!). As you can see, we still have a ways to go along with cleaning up, but this is a start. I wanted something completely different and I think we accomplished that! We are just LOVING the turquoise!!
