CAS

International Art & Soul, a challenge which has been put together to incorporate any type of craft, paper, wood, flowers, recycling, glass - the world is your oyster :).  Come on over and join us with you artwork :)

Challenge #115
CAS
This fortnights challenge 'CAS' has been chosen by Maggie. Just a quick and simple card to share with you this week, a simple flower and a favourite saying :) Must admit though I never pick flowers from the garden, a habit developed over many years.  Hubby won't buy flowers as he says they belong in the ground and my Mum hated picking any of her roses she grew etc. as they lasted so much longer outside where she could enjoy their beauty instead of in a vase :)

Cuddly Critter Elephant

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is
 'CAS'
and the sponsor for this challenge is Dr Digi's House of Stamps with a prize of 2 digital images of the winners choice.

CAS cards were something I always used to find very difficult but it seems these days nearly all the cards I make are CAS, I think it is because the images I am using are so fabulous that overly decorating the card seems to distract from them.  For this card I used the image Cuddly Critters Elephant by the awesome Dr. Digi and as it is a CAS challenge I only added the Birthday text for him to sit on.  Coloured with Promarkers - Salmon Pink, Baby Pink, Cool Grey 1 to 5.

Did Someone Say Cream Cake?

The challenge this fortnight at I ❤️Promarkers is
 'CAS (Clean & Simple)'
and the sponsor for this challenge is Knitty Kitty Digis with a prize of Prize 3 single images to the winner (or one set).

For my design creation I have used the Knitty Kitty Digi Did Someone Say Cream Cake? image.  CAS oh CAS - often such great looking cards but for me one of the hardest to do, I never feel like I have finished the card and have to stop myself from adding extras, the only way I can do this is to go with a very plain card, no layering and only have the image and sentiment and nothing else.  I do love the way this one has turned out, have to admit that.

Image coloured with Promarkers - Warm Grey 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Cool Grey 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Ice Grey 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Orange, Sunflower Yellow and Ivory.

Sockies

Challenge 118
CAS

Welcome back to the IKEsWORLD challenges :)  do pop on over to IKEsWORLD to join in the challenge, it is always so much fun and  Ike produces the most amazing stamps, everything from off the wall to cute and fluffy :) :) :)

I love CAS cards but boy are they hard to do.  When I look at ideas for CAS cards for inspiration so many are just beautiful in their simplicity but when I try then look at the end product I feel it is so unfinished and it is such a temptation to add more but then it wouldn't be CAS would it :)

For my DT creation for this challenge I used one of the sock puppet images from the SOCKIES set, such a fun set of images that you just can't help smiling at.  I coloured the image with Promarkers then added a bit of shading and the knitted pattern with Prismacolour pencils.  The image was then cut out ready to go on the inside of the card.  Next I cut a couple of circular strips and coloured them to match the sockie dog and using the smallest of the circles I was working with cut the corner off the card blank.  Only a wee bit of stamping to do, the sentiment and then it was time to assemble.

Ingredients:-
  • image - SOCKIES by IKEsART
  • colouring medium - Promarkers and Prismacolour
  • other items - sentiment stamp
