Happy Birthday!

It's official, Cory is now in his LATE-twenties! What an old fart! But at least he's a GREAT hubby & dad! He's always concerned about his girls (Sadie & I), and helping us in any way he can. Although he's busy in school, he gives us every spare second!
Happy Birthday, Old Man!

The CRUISE!!!

We spent last week on a great cruise from San Diego to Catalina, then to Ensenada. It was REALLY hard to leave Sadie (Cory's mom watched her. Thanks, Faith! ) But it was SOOO much fun! Here are just a few of the pictures.

Here we are waiting for a show!
(Aaron, Amanda, Aujelle, Adam, Alli, and Cory....all "A" names, except for Cory!)

Karaoke was a lot of fun, we did it several nights. Here's my bro-in-law, Aaron, embarassing my sister Amanda. Cory sang a romantic song for me too.... it was "Baby got Back." Not quite as cute, but still funny!

Cory volunteered for a game show, which he won! Although he told them his name was Klaus from Cupcake, Iowa and he worked as a choreographer! Where does he come up with this stuff?

While in Mexico, we rented a dune buggie! It was AWESOME!!! We rode through the mountains to a natural hot spring. Then on part of the Baja 500 trail. It was WILD!

(more dune buggie. We got COVERED in mud!)

What happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico, right?
This is my new tat, j/k it's just henna!

The last night, Aaron got hypnotized. If you don't believe in hypnosis, you need to meet Aaron! He was completely out of it for the whole night! This is after the show when we were trying to wake him up. This beach chair is actually dripping WET, but Aaron didn't seem to mind. We ended up sending him to bed!

THANKS MOM & DAD FOR THE MUCH NEEDED VAYCAY!!!

Giggles!

One of my mommy-goals is to enjoy every age of my baby.
Sadie makes it EASY! Watch and see!

(Sorry I'm on a video kick!
I just can't get enough of her!)

She didn't get it from me!

Sadie hasn't taken much to a pacifier. She chews on her fingers, but never sucks. Well, take a look at what she does like to suck on:

It's her exersice saucer!
Whatever Duda! We still love you!

First Meal

Here's a SHORT clip of Sadie's first bites of rice cereal. I'm not sure how much actually made it down, but we'll keep practicing!

***Please disregard the baby-talk!***

Check-Up

Wow! Sadie is 4 months old! Crazy! I was counting down to the doctor's visit because her acid reflux has been really bad this past week! No fun! Just this morning, for example, after sleeping 11hrs she ate ONE measly ounce. After 11hrs, she should be starving, but after an ounce she cried and squirmed and pushed the bottle away. Well, that's not enough to keep her healthy, so I've had to wait 20ish minutes and offer the bottle AGAIN! It's been taking 40-60min to feed her! UGH! So yes, I was anxious to get to the doctor!

Luckily, the doctor had answers for us! We're adding rice cereal to her milk to help keep everything down in her tummy. We've only had one feeding like this, but it was amazing! LoL, oh the things that get me happy these days! She usually eats around 5oz, but when I made the bottle with the rice, I accidentally made 6oz. Yeah, she
downed that thing in minutes! I think she's used to eating until it hurts her, and since this didn't hurt, she gobbled it right up! Poor baby, but it looks like we're on the right track! :)

While at the doctor's she also got her shots. I let Cory hold her down, then I raced to comfort/save her as soon as they were done. It was almost funny this time. Her face turned BRIGHT
red, and she howled! Her screams were definitely directed at the nurse! The nurse was sweet and careful with her, but while I was holding Sadie and she was screaming and staring right at the nurse! Just kept looking at her with this "Why???" face! LoL! You had to be there!

Anyway, she's 4 months old now, and her stats are almost identical to her 2month. Height:97% Weight: 60% I don't know how we had a tall baby! Hmm...The mailman is tall....j/k! She's 14lbs, and 25.75inches. Even though feeding is a struggle, she makes up for it by being the HAPPIEST baby! She's full of smiles and laughs!

LOVE HER!

Lazy Day

What a bad mom! Yes, I put on a kids' show and stuck my daughter in front of it! LoL! I didn't think she'd actually watch it! And I HAD to get the laundry going. We'll try not to make it a habit! :)

What is a lazy day without slippers??? Sadie LOVES slippers, just like mom! They actually stay on through naps and kicking, whu-hoo!

-The bottom of the slippers. If you can't tell, they say "Little Angel" Aww, so true!

It's about time!

We've had the same bathroom set since we've been married. Over 4yrs, that's a long time, right? Last week, Sadie peed on the bathroom rug (LoL), and this time the rugs couldn't handle another trip through the wash. The edges were starting to fall apart. So I convinced Cory that we needed new rugs, shower curtain, towels, the whole bit. -The ironic part: I haven't replaced the rugs yet! :)

Growing Girl!
I'll post her Halloween costume soon!!!

What we've been up to:

The baby sling just wasn't cutting it! So I got this carrier. ($20 at Wal-mart, can't beat it!) The result: SADIE LOVES IT!!! We went for a walk for about an hour and a half and Sadie didn't make one PEEP! She LOVED seeing everything! This is definitely a 'Baby Best Buy!'

I moved Sadie into her own room! :( I miss her, but at least she doesn't seem to know the difference! The first night I only slept around 4hrs, Sadie slept 9hrs! I was just listening to the baby monitor, and couldn't ignore it. Don't worry, ever since the second night I've been sleeping normally.

We went to Baby Hudson's blessing. Am I wrong, or do these two look a little too happy snuggling! Oh no, we've got a flirt on our hands!

Jude, Ella, Hudson, and Sadie
We put all the kids in a pile and took as many pictures as possible. What a bunch of cuties!
Jude, Bekah, Ella, Kjirsten, Hudson, me, Sadie
Friends Forever!

Pretty Girl!
(I don't know if you can tell,
but on my left thumb you can see one of my many burns)

P.S. Cory and I have compromised
on the whole ear-piercing thing.
We'll pierce her ears for her 1st birthday! Thanks for the input!

The Debate!

To pierce or not to pierce?!? Call me crazy, but I think earings on babies are cute! It's one more way to make sure everyone knows she's a girl. I'm nervous writing this because I think everyone is going to be completely against it. Cory doesn't really want me to do it, but says I can if I really want to. Last time I was at the doctors I noticed they had a sign saying that they'll pierce ears if the baby is at least 3mos. Ooo, I want to!!! Should I???

Duh!

I don't know what's wrong with me! LoL! I've burned my hand 3 times in 4 days! Who does that?!? Apparently me! First, I burned the side of my hand while scooping out of a hot pan. Then, I burned my knuckles while dropping pasta into boiling water. And lastly, I burned my thumb on the curling iron/waver thing. Duh! BUT that's not the worst of it! The other night, the power went out at 3:30am. We had a fan and a humidifier going, so when the power went out, it woke me up. Well, it also woke up Sadie. Great! :( I had to feel my way to the kitchen to get a bottle. I remembered the bottles were in the dishwasher, so I found one without too much trouble. Luckily, the hallways in our building have a light ran by a generator. I had to take the bottle out to the main hallway to see if I was doing it right. Sadie was crying, so I RAN back to the kitchen and WHAM!!! I ran right into the OPEN dishwasher! I hit it hard enough to cut skin and now a nice green bruise has appeared. Ugh, what a night!

Just some pics

Sadie LOVES to be nakie! (-naked) She only has a hat keeping her warm. Daddy likes the Ute logo, as you can see him snuggling her in his Ute blanket.

For the past week, Sadie likes to lock her legs like she's standing. So I got this l saucer out, and she loves it! Thanks, Amanda, for letting us borrow it!

Big enough for the bumbo!

One of my best friends, Shanda, is in town from PA. We went to a Real soccer game. It was the first time since Sadie was born that I've gone out for a friend night w/o Cory or Sadie. Cory & I have been out a couple times, but I haven't been by myself. I definitely missed my cute family, but I had a fun night! Thanks, Shanda!

Feeling Better! :)

I just wanted to thank everyone for your love and concern. Sadie is doing MUCH better! She still doesn't eat as much as she used to, BUT somehow she still managed to GAIN weight last week. We're taking her off the Zantac in the next couple days, which makes me nervous, but hopefully the Prevacid will be working by then. FINGERS CROSSED!

A Baby Blessing & a Hospital Trip

Phew! I'm glad that last week is over! See, about 2wks ago Sadie got that yeast infection I blogged about. -No fun, but looking back I miss it when that was our big concern! Sadie had some infection in her mouth, so she wasn't eating very well. I mentioned that to the Dr. at her 2month check-up and her Dr. (whom I adore) thought maybe it wasn't thrush, but acid reflux. I was shocked, cuz she doesn't spit up that much. She gave me some Prevacid that can take 2wks to start controlling the acid. I'm grateful my Dr was so in tune to Sadie, cuz I didn't think at that point it was reflux. BOY, WAS I WRONG!
For the past week, feedings have been nearly IMPOSSIBLE ending with both of us in tears. She arches her back and shuts her lips TIGHT! She shakes her head and is learning to push it away! It got to the point that if I held her in a feeding position, she'd scream because she thought that meant food, which meant pain. She wouldn't even suck on a pacifier. Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't have gotten this bad if I didn't blame it on thrush for so long, but I try not to guilt myself. Either way, with each day she was eating less and less, and crying more and more. I tried all these different formulas: lactose-free, soy, etc. -Some seemed to work for a feeding or two, but never really helped.
Sometimes she'd eat while I was standing, others in her carseat. We've been running circles just to keep her from dehydrating.
Saturday morning was the last straw, I woke up and found brownish spit up ALL OVER her! She also seemed to be having diarrhea (sorry for the details). I called the doctor, and she recommended taking her to Primary Children's to be checked. Yeah, I pretty much lost it. I cried all morning. This baby has turned me to mush!
After a LONG time at the hospital, we are now adding Zantac to the Prevacid, as well as Tylenol regurlarly to help with pain. UGH! No one can tell me about the brown spit up, they think it may be from the soy or she may have sores in her throat that may bleed a little. -YIKES! Zantac takes 48hrs to suppress acid, right now we're at hour...30ish so we're CAUTIOUSLY optimistic. I'll keep you posted on this, hopefully my baby will be back eating normally soon!

On a MUCH lighter note: Sadie was blessed today! :) I was nervous because she's been in so much pain, I had NO IDEA what she'd do at church! Luckily, she was great! Phew! We are so lucky to have our family nearby. It was wonderful having their love and support. Thanks to everyone that came. Sadie is lucky to be loved by so many people!

Kenna & 2 Months Old

We had Sadie's cousin, Kennedy, over for a couple hours. Kennedy is 2, and she LOVES Sadie. She's such a big helper. She brings me Sadie's pacifier or blankie wherever we may be. I put Sadie down for a nap and I had Kennedy sitting in front of her favorite show while I was getting ready. I had to sneak to put Sadie down, because I knew Kenna would want to go play with her. She kept asking, "Baby Sadie, where are you?" Anyway, Kenna was watching her show and being awfully quiet so I thought I'd better check on her. I came around the corner to the family room, and this is what I saw:

LoL, maybe she misses the baby life! I would want an indoor swing too! She found that bottle and put it on the tray. Funny girl!

In other news, Sadie is 2months old! She's super tall! Her height is in the 97th %, and her weight is 75th %. She got her shots a couple days ago. -SOOO SAD! I never hear the "pain cry," so that was awful. I got a little teary-eyed, but managed to hide it from others. I don't know who hated the shots more, me or Sadie. I think I did, because at least she has super short-term memory. I still remember it all too vividly!

What?!? Babies Don't Stay Little?!?

The only fun part of a baby getting big is getting new clothes! I have some pretty cute outfits hanging in the closet just waiting for her! It was time to get some new jammies (pj's), so I went to the store. And what did I find??? Her same jammies in a bigger size! I tried to pick other ones, I even had a different one in hand ready to go. But oh how I missed seeing her in those green pj's. I couldn't handle the thought of never seeing her in them again. Am I pathetic? -My sad face about Sadie getting big...maybe I should feed her less. J/K!!! Don't leave hate comments, I'll keep feeding her!

Ups and Downs

UPS:
Sadie has had an eventful week! Monday night she hit a new sleep record: 10hrs! It hasn't happened since then. (-She usually goes 7-8hrs, still good!) I took this picture one of the MILLION times I checked her to see if she was breathing! LoL! I even moved the baby monitor into the crib because I was worried I just wasn't hearing her. By the way, she's wearing a "SwaddleMe," we call it a Snuggie, and she LOVES it! I only have her wear it at night so she doesn't get too used to it, but I give it some of the credit for her sleeping for so long. LOVE the snuggie! This is Sadie and her new buddy, Hudson! Hudson is 3wks younger, they look pretty cute together, huh? Sadie is already a flirt! I got together with my best childhood friends, Bekah & Kjirsten. Hudson is Kjirst's baby, and Bekah has a 9month old, Jude. I'm bummed I didn't get a picture of Jude! I will next time for sure!

DOWNS
:
Sadie had a sad diaper rash that wasn't going away. Then I noticed a couple soars on her cute, little bum! I took her to the doctor, and yes, it's a yeast infection! Poor Baby! She doesn't seem to bothered by it. The stinky thing is that babies that get a yeast infection once are way more likely to get them again. The doctor also noticed a little of the infection in her mouth (super common), so now she has 2 perscriptions. I hope she starts feeling better!

Getting used to the sling

So I got one of these baby slings. They're quite convenient, though Sadie is NOT so fond of them! He! He! She'll only stay in it for about 10min. Just after we took this picture, she pooped BIG TIME and it got on the sling. -I think it was a ploy to get out. Now it's in the wash, so she's free!

The owners of our apartments were so nice, they bought Sadie this little play mat. She already likes it a lot. She's not sure why the animals move when she swings her arms, but eventually she'll figure it out!

My Two Favorite People

Cory has been SUPER busy with school. In just 2weeks of class, they've managed to monopolize most all of his time. Yuck! He just finished an intense day of testing on Friday and we're happy to have him home! Sadie Bug missed her sweet dad!

1 Whole Month?!?

It's true! Sadie is 1 month old! What the??? I can't believe it! She's getting chubbier every day! We had a check-up today to make sure that she's putting on weight, and she is! She's now 8lbs 11oz. The doctor was happy because she "jumped percentiles." I don't know what percentile she was in before, but now she's 25%. -I guess she's little like her parents!

Waking Up is Hard to Do!

Look at her, just chillin'! Could she be any more comfortable?

Too Sweet!

Sadie makes the funniest faces when she's waking up!
She puckers her lips and wrinkles her forhead!
