A Visit to the Aquarium

We felt like we needed to something fun with the kids over the Christmas break even though I was barely functioning due to our twin pregnancy so Paul took the kids to the aquarium in Camden, New Jersey, right across the Delaware river from Philadelphia.  Everyone had a great time, as usual, and the kids are still begging to go again.

All set for the drive there with their new American Girl Dolls

Merry Christmas 2011 from the Madsens

Christmas Day, 2011
Merry Christmas to you, cherished family and friends. It’s 2011!
Season’s greetings from our little piece of Madsen heaven.

Kerri’s pregnant with twins, that’s our big news this year.
Due February 11th, they soon will be here!
Two boys will even out our energetic crew. . .
Three boys and three girls--Spencer will finally have brothers. . . woo hoo!

Rachel (age 14) is an extremely busy teenage girl.
Running her around keeps Mom and Dad in a whirl.
She plays soccer, shoots hoops, spikes the volleyball
Academically, she’s brilliant; she gives everything her all.
She tickles the ivories, plays a mean violin;
She also runs track and loves competing in swim.

Spencer (age 9) torpedoes through the water each race,
His personality unique, his academics first place!
He swishes the basketball, stops goals in soccer,
He often stays up late reading Percy Jackson and Harry Potter.

Caitlin (age 6) is learning a lot in first grade
As a reading and math whiz, her school days are made.
She dribbles the soccer ball, in artwork, she’s a star.
As a gymnast and all-around good girl, she’s bound to go far.

Courtney (age 6), our cutie, loves to act and sing.
She’s a bright little reader and soccer is her thing.
At gymnastics, she thinks cartwheels and tripods are cool.
She also likes bike riding and swimming in the pool.

And so ends another annual Madsen epistle!

Hope to hear from you in the new year, give us a whistle!

Christmas 2011

On Christmas Eve, we continued our tradition of acting out the nativity.

The kids also got their new Christmas pajamas

Christmas morning arrived a bit too soon for Mom and Dad but the kids were so excited!

Spencer LOVED his new nerf gun.  It was just what he wanted.

Caitlin and Courtney got American Girl Dolls that look like them.  After they were unwrapped, Rachel got her American Girl Doll and the three girls played together with them.
