The Blog Must Die!
This blog is shutting it's (virtual) doors.
It has been so much fun, but really-I don't want to be in the closet anymore.
I'm really proud of my work, my opinions, my abilities as a writer and communicator. I'm so proud of all my blogging and writing friends who are fighting the fight under their own names and identities-putting themselves at risk professionally, financially and socially.
I'm proud to be associated with them and proud to be on their speed dials and e-mail chains.
There is a lot at stake nowadays, but I'm finally ready to just be who I am and take my lumps as necessary.
I won't delete the blog because there are lots of excellent links up here, and certainly some subjects that I will revisit in the coming months and years, so this will remain an archive of sorts.
If I do it right, you'll hear of me, and about me and hopefully continue to enjoy more of my work.
It has been my pleasure sharing links and thoughts with you.
I'm getting older, not younger and more set in my ways. We have a civilization battle on our hands. Andrew Breitbart is dead, he was only a couple years older than me-and that upset me more than I can really explain-and also solidified in my mind that the right thing to do is put my name to every single thing I think and not be intimidated by anyone, or afraid of any repercussions. He was a fighter, a real Macabee, and that's just gotta be the way I roll from now on.
Thank you for reading. It has been a pleasure-but I've got Very Important Things To Say and I'm just gonna be saying them from now on.

David Frum is a Descpicable Piece of Excrement
It's hard to come up with the appropriate words to describe this foul, disgusting excuse of a man.
I guess we're lucky Frum waited-just barely-for rigor mortis to set it, and that's the nicest thing I could ever say about David Frum.
David Frum is a jealous, petty loser who can barely write. Despicable. 
What Do You Do In Your Post-Slut Years
I think it's pretty awful what "fame" means to women nowadays.
I definitely think that women need to utilize their assets, at the right time and in the right way. What do I mean by that?
That means looking your best, being healthy, living well, getting an education, etc..in order to attract the best possible life partner, and have a good life as a wife and mother. I realize that it's not for everyone.
There are years when women are in their prime-their most fertile, etc..
But I keep thinking what a dramatic and depressing decline "famous" women have when they are on the northern cusp of their beauty and fertility. I mean-gravity is a bitch!
The pictures of famous women are basically geared for maximum titillation and to convince people of the woman's slutiness.
There are a finite number of sexual activities that happen between men and women-and most pictures appear to only document a given celebrity's credentials in this department.
Am I wrong? I mean how many variations of the lolly pop sucking photos must we see?
I know men like to look at variety, but I can't help but wonder about the massive sound of THUD as stars like Rhianna, and others can no longer sell themselves as sex objects.
Does anyone actually like the pictures of Madonna-pushing 50 sucking lollypops?
A lot of the photos are pathetic rather than sensual.
I personally would rather see sensual, and leave more graphic and less subtle stuff for people to consume more privately.
All of these pictures, to me-just scream "HEY I KNOW HOW TO GIVE A BJ".
Or "HEY I KNOW HOW TO HAVE SEX"
How creative is that?

I am really upset about this, and I feel so terrible for his four kids and his wife and family. This is just awful and hard to believe.
I think that he was a modern day Macabee for the Jewish people and the civilized world.
I won't get into any maudlin tribute to someone that I didn't know personally-I think real mourning is, and must be "saved" for those we knew and loved personally.
He was a very intelligent, forward-thinking, man and I wish I didn't feel so sad about this but I do.
One day we are here-the next day gone. An absolute pity.
I do believe an appropriate tribute is to continue to fight the fight-in any and every way that each of us is capable of doing.

"Anti-Bullying" is Gay
Not applying for a spot on an Oprah Winfrey show with Lady Gaga.
I am opposed to every form of "anti-bullying" except for beating them to a pulp.
I think this is the way to frighten and pussify children. It's a terrible direction for children.
A friend of mine in Toronto just went ballistic on her children's school (in Toronto) for showing an "anti-bullying" film to her kids without permission or context.
Apparently, the film plot was that a child was bullied relentlessly, all the time, every day to the point where the child committed suicide-this was shown to VERY YOUNG children.
It was absolutely traumatizing to her kids. They were up at night with night terrors, after having watched a film representation of a young child actually killing himself.
The school apparently 'apologized'. I suspect it was one of those 'ooooh sorry you are so upset' types of apologies.

My Idiot People
Michael Coren is not an antisemite and Rabbi Shmuely has "issues".
Kathy takes a further look at the Rabbi's appearance on Michael Coren's show last week.
Interestingly, I had just finished reading a book by Boteach.
It was called Ten Conversations You Need to Have With Your Children.
There was some interesting 'advice' in the book-mostly stuff that I felt was no-brainer advice, like listening to your children, having dinner as a family, the idea that one must always "honour" one's parents, even if we don't feel love for them all the time.
It was very Jewish, very sensible stuff.
However, I was telling Kathy that I thought that the book inadvertantly revealed much more about Rabbi Boteach than he probably realized, or had intended.
It was meant to be another wow-I'm-so-smart kind of book, because the Rabbi considers himself a counselor, martial therapist, psychologist, teacher, etc.. all in one.
What I read in the book was a series of pretty candid confessions about his very troubled childhood-that clearly both haunts him and animates a lot of his career choices.
Exhibit one-his parents apparently fought all the time, and he admits that police were called to his house.
His father was a yelling, screaming tyrant apparently who was emotionally distant from the children.
The mother couldn't take it any more and packed up the kids from LA (the dad was a poor, Iranian Jewish immigrant to the US) and moved them to Miami.
So, he grew up without his father-no male role model and a single mom who worked day and night to keep the kids fed and in Jewish schools.
His brother is gay-hard to reconcile with Orthodox Judaism.
Throughout the book there were also admission of him yelling at his children, apologizing for yelling only to do it again, virtually ignoring one of his sons and being almost obsessively concerned about the (commercial) success of his books.
He seems to not understand the disconnect between his clear pursuit of celebrity and how that puts him at odds with traditional Jewish values like personal modesty. He is vain about his intellect, and admits that his children have castigated him for the way he often speaks to his wife (put downs, disappointment).
Clearly, while battling his family demons, he puts on a very cool show in public, making a living with a penchant for publicity. You do have to wonder about his association with Michael Jackson-how one could possibly reconcile befriending such a drug-addicted, troubled (accused pedophile). Would he have let Michael Jackson come over for Shabbos and stay in a room with his sons?
If I were Michael Coren, I wouldn't be terribly concerned about being accused of antisemitism by Rabbi Boteach. It's a ridiculous accusation.
Michael Coren has issues with Judaism-how could you not, being a Jewish convert to Roman Catholicism.
But those I believe, are of a personal and completely benign nature, and not anti-Jewish in any way.
Furthermore, one must always evaluate where criticism originates and for what purpose.
Self-publicity and puffery appear to be two Boteach specialties so I wouldn't take this Boteach outburst too seriously.
Finally!
Me and yeast have never been good friends-but this looks totally doable.

They are very very cool and have not been done before.
One is a historical thriller novel and the other an expose of my underground conservative life! You can't imagine what I have seen. Believe me-you've never, but I mean EVAH EVAH read anything like it.

PETA Biggest Pet Killers in America?
Math is sooooooooo hard, but I think that means that a whopping 16% (so, less than a quarter) of all those critters have a chance of living for ONE DAY in PETA custody.
How ethical is that??
I think PETA must stand for "People Euthanizing Tons of Animals".
