Bananna Bread "Mini-Muffies"...

So, I signed up to make Banana Bread for our Ward Activity. Problem... I can't make banana bread. For whatever reason, I am missing the
"Mormon Mom Banana Bread Gene". Oh...your familiar with it then?

Well, it's been a difficult road for me - I always end up digging it out of my pans and it turns out burnt on the outside and all globby/nasty in the middle. (I've even tried those mini-loaves!) I used to freeze the bananas thinking I would use them and then finally...one day I gave up. Yes, I have been just tossing all my over-ripe bananas away for the past few years. (I know, you are disapointed in me) It is actually good to get that off my chest. What kind of a wife am I if I can't make such a simple sweet bread...what kind of MOTHER? Oh, the horror...

My solution? Mini-muffins! My kids love "mini-muffies" and I thought I would give it a try... they turned out edible and I wasn't scorned for them at the activity! (And that's always good!). Finally, after years of Banana Bread Handicap...SUCCESS! My mini-muffin tin is my new best friend, and I deem this "Blog-Worthy".

Bryson's Calvin and Hobbs Expression...

Take a look at the third picture from the left. Yup, that's Bryson after he munched my deodorant one Sunday morning!

What Has He Eaten Now?...

Here is an action shot of Bryson last spring. (For whatever reason, we shave the boys heads every spring.)Anyway, he was eating chocolate frosting. This little guy got the frosting out of the fridge, got a butter knife out of the dishwasher and sat up on our kitchen table to devour it. (Don't ask me where he gets these genes) When he is caught...he get this really cute Calvin and Hobbs look on his face.(The one when he is being a little stinker and he kind of does a little stinker smile? It's the third one from the left on the little comic strip above...)

Well, after feeling a little frustrated today about the whole eating strange things "issue", I've decided that I need to look at the bright side (Find Joy in even THIS part of my Journey) and perhaps give joy to other people who will read of these bazaar experiences. So, I have decided to add a little section on the right side of my Blog dedicated solely to the plethora of strange cuisine that my sweet almost two year old has digested. For the record I do feed him normal food! I feed him normal food all the time! He just loves tasting new things for some reason. Who knows, maybe he will be the next Bear Grylls.(That's the guy from Man vs. Wild who eats weird slugs, maggots, and funky parts of dead animals to survive...)

Well, no matter...I love this little man, and if I will consider it a true miracle and blessing if I can just get him to survive through this stage without choking/poisoning himself. Anyway, if you are interested, I will be adding to it as situations arise. :)

Look what I made last night!

So look at these yummy Peanut Butter Truffles I made! My Sister in Law Jessie told me about this awesome Blog called Picky Palate (there is a link to it on my Blog). The girl on there makes the yummiest looking stuff! I had seen this on the Bakerella website too but for some reason when I saw it on Picky Palate it looked easier. All she does is put a package of Nutter Butters in the food processor and turn them into crumbs, then she mixes that with cream cheese, next she forms them into 1 inch balls and puts them in the fridge. All you do after that is roll them in melted chocolate (microwaves are great!) and then drizzle white chocolate over them. They are so delicious cold! This isn't my picture, this is off of her website but they really did look like this! (Oh, and she makes ones with Oreos too! Yum!) They turned out sooo cute and yummy and I was pretty proud of myself. I think I will make these for Valentines Day! Thank you Jessie for introducing me to Picky Palate and officially ruining my New Years Resolution! :)

Littlest Turkey Shooter...

Bryser...what a good little man. :)

Target Practice?

No Turkeys, just some old bottles, a few cans and a poor duck decoy! Josh won some serious moolah by actually shooting the D out of a Dr. Pepper can! This was unprecedented in the history...er...of all Walker Turkey Shooting! Great job Josh and great job to all the Walker marksmen!

Walker Turkey Shoot Pics!

Don't worry, no turkeys were harmed during this fun family activity...

Cinnamon Chips...Like an Old Friend.

I must have gone through bags of these during the holidays! I got introduced to these when I lived in Oregon, they were sold at WinCo.(Some of you know how I feel about WinCo.) Anyway, I finally got the courage to call Lins and request that they order some. Happy day they came and during the holidays I made literally vats of cookie dough! (My favorite recipe is the oatmeal/cinnamon chip cookie recipe on the back of the bag - minus the raisins of course...ha ha)If you find these sacred chips at your local grocer drop a couple of bags into your cart. You can thank me later...in cookies preferrably.

I love these!

I found these CTR Scrabble Tile Pendants on Etsy and then I found this website with the how-to directions! I'm going to try this! The next time I get to town...I'm picking up some serious scrabble tiles! Here is the link if you are interested...
