Pretty in Pink!

 BRRRRRR!
Chicago is in a deep freeze right now!
It makes me extremely grateful for my warm home!
What's a girl to do when it is so bitter outside? It's a rhetorical question of course.....because we all know the answer is CRAFT!
I used Whimsy Stamps, Wonky Die to create the background, as well as Tim Holtz's Distress Oxide to give it a pretty shade of pink. I splattered it with water and blotted it to give it a more interesting look.
I stamped the sentiment using the You're Too Kind stamp set and gold embossing powder
The flower was created using the Peony Flower Die.   I gave the leaves a bit of color with Tim Holtz's Cracked Pistachio Oxide ink.
To add sparkle to the flower and leaves I gave them a thin coating of glossy accents and sprinkled them with Glamour Dust glitter.
I added a few fun details, like gold twine, and used the gold droplets for the center of the flower, from the Sparkletz Coral Coast collection.  I added a few additional gold droplets using  Nuvo's Glitter Drops in Honey Gold.

I am so glad you stopped by today! If you are in the deep freeze with me, keep warm! And if you live in a warm climate, Enjoy!! :)

Just Believe and Our New York Trip!

Good morning my friends! I am getting worse and worse about this blog lately!  Since Cort has moved to Misericordia and Kyle has gone to college, I have found this new freedom.  Crafting is wonderful....but traveling is even better! LOL!  So forgive the lack of posts.... ;)
I was up on the SRM blog last week using this brand new stamp set, Just Believe.
I adore the little images and these sentiments!
I stamped, embossed, and water colored.  I stamped the sentiment in black and gave it a few highlights with a white gel pen.  I added a few sequins, tied twine horizontally at the top and layered it over pink card stock.
We loved New York! Such an interesting place to visit!
We saw 4 Broadway plays while there, Waitress (which was fantastic!), Phantom of the Opera, School of Rock (another favorite of mine), and Avenue Q. (Not a fan of the last one!)
We visited Times Square. (picture below)
We took a pedi cab tour of Central Park.
And acted like a couple of teenagers......3>

Thank you for stopping by!
I LOVE your visits and comments!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Justrite Meadow Circles New Release!

Good morning friends! I have another Justrite card to share today! This set is called Meadow Circles.  It is a beautiful set! I wanted to create a card that had an Asian feel to it.  I stamped each image in shades green and blue and cut them into circles.  I gave each circle a layer of glossy accents.
Created by Michele Kovack
I staggered the circle over a piece of glittery gold paper.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it in gold.  I added a flower, gold leaves, and some gold cording.

Created by Michele Kovack

For a finishing touch I added a few coordinating sequins.

I have lots of laundry and lesson plans to catch up on today.  I think it might be a pajama wearing Sunday!
Have a wonderful day!

Hello Friend...

My son has college night at his school this week.  It is almost surreal to me that he could possibly be old enough to be thinking college in a little over a year.  How in the heck did that happen?
I know us moms all go through that.  The time thing.
We all look at our children and ask, "Weren't they toddlers just a minute ago?"
I blinked, looked up, and now have a soon to be 19 year old, and a 17 year old.
I am trying to enjoy each stage as they come...because soon enough my house will be empty.  I will become an "empty nester." Yeeeeesh. scary stuff I tell ya!
I am glad I have this little hobby...it keeps me sane. It is my one constant in life. I love playing and experimenting.  I am loving these stencils and embossed this one in white. I created a satin flower and a sentiment using my Dymo Label Maker.  I made it for no particular reason. It was just for fun. :)
And just because I think she is so dang adorable......
Enjoy your Tuesday! Thank you for stopping here....I know you are all busy, so I really do appreciate your visits!

JustRite's January Release-Tufted Vintage Labels Seven!

Good morning friends! Happy New Year to you!
With the start of a new year, JustRite is kicking off their brand new stamps for January, just in time for CHA!  Today's set is called, Tufted Vintage Labels Seven.  It is a background stamp that coordinates with Spellbinder's Vintage Labels Seven die.  I stamped it in Versamark and sprinkled it with silver embossing powder.  I used the die to cut out the center.  To add color, I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers.  I added tiny pearls to the background to dress it up.
The sentiment is part of last month's release, Grand Thank You Sentiments.  It was also heat embossed in silver. I popped the front panel up on dimensional foam circles to give it a bit of depth.  I snuck a few pieces of doily in between the layers.
I wanted to frame the sentiment a bit so I used Rose Creations by Spellbinders to make my own flowers.  I cut them from white card stock.  The edges were given a bit of pink and then shaped into roses. I even made a few little rose buds to sneak in here and there. I added a few silk flowers, leaves, silk ribbon, purple string, and feathers.
The girls have done such a great job showcasing this background stamp! So be sure to drop by their blogs!

It is time to take my Christmas stuff down....not nearly as fun as putting it up.  :(
We are expecting about 8 inches of snow today, so it's a good day to clean and organize the house I guess! :)
Have a great day everyone!

JustRite's New Release Day 2!

I am so glad you are stopping by to see day 2 of JustRite's new May release!  This set is called, Birthday Vintage Labels Four.  This set is absolutely perfect for using the hottest trend right now....the chalkboard technique!  This was my first card using this fun method!  I embossed the background in white and the sentiment in a pale pink.
I grabbed my white and pale pink ink pads and did a bit of sponging around the edges.  I took my finger and kind of smudged it a bit with the white or pink ink around the frame and sentiment.  Not an exact method by any means! ;)
I used my Martha Stewart butterfly punch to add a bit of color and my Silhouette to create a few rolled flowers.  The final touches include seam binding and a few epoxy pearls.
This is the entire set.....fun right?!
Be sure to pop on over to my fellow design team girls....they have such fabulous projects to share with you!

Snowfall in June?

Nothing like having a beachy themed LO on monday, and a snowy card today! I guess that kind of fits with living in Chicago, where the temps can fluctuate from 98 degrees one day to 54 the next! ; )
JustRite is releasing their new sets this week and this one called, Snowfall, is beautiful.  I decided to use a sort of "Spotlighting" technique on it.  I stamped it with Versamark and white embossing powder, but then also stamped it with pink, blue, and purple die inks.  I used 2 sizes of circle punch to punch several circles and layer them over the white background.  I think it makes for a neat effect!
The flowers and felt "leaves" are by Prima.  I coated the leaves with Stickles to give it a bit of sparkle. I also  added a bit seam binding tied with a thin white string. The sentiment is part of the Large Fancy Holiday Sentiments.  I absolutely LOVE the font used in this set!
I added a few pearls too. : )

Here is a  peek at the two sets!

Be sure to visit the other gals and see what they've created with these beautiful sets!

I am off to get caught up on a lot of things that were left neglected in my house.....it IS the first day of summer vacation! ; )
Have a great day!!!
