Busy New Life

How can I feel like I don't do much all day, but at the same time feel so busy?? Errands, projects, cleaning, and cooking can really wear you out.

Chavis had his "white coat" ceremony a couple of weeks ago which was neat, but super packed. They did all the programs at once instead of just his. So he was going to be on one side of the stage that had no more seats left, so we were on the opposite side of the stage. So me and some other wives walked around to their side as their names were getting close so we could see their faces. We wanted to walk down the stairs a little ways to get closer for pictures but alas..... there was but one elderly woman who took her job much too seriously...... she saw it in her job description to kick people out of the isle and then stand with her arms spread out. Every few seconds glancing side to side, making sure no picture-hungry loved ones dare get a good photo of this once in a lifetime event. After our hubbies were all done with their turn we went back to our seats and watched this silly hag while we laughed at her ridiculousness.... and took pictures of her.....
Here she is with her outstretched arms.

Chavis with his 2 palls, Andrew and Andrew.

Chavis is doing great in school as usual. He loves learning even when he's not in school. I admire that quality in him. He is stressed, there is an incredible amount of information in such a short time. He's been studying for an anatomy test. 17 lectures to go over, each having about 100 slides on things that you have to be able to identify. Pretty overwhelming but he's doing great!

Happy 4 years! We went to the Melting Pot for our anniversary and had a relaxing evening, thanks to Chase and Kiya for watching August!

I've been making some curtains and pillows:

Added some fabric to these white valences my mom got.  (Thanks again mom!)

This white pillow was way more a pain then it should've been. The fabric is a bit heavier than I'm used to.

And here is August and what he's been up to.

He loves being a ghost. He'll follow your voice till he gets to you then gives a giant hug!
 August with cousin Emrie
Loves his dad!
Future gymnast. He loved it here.
He really loved jumping in the foam pit. No fear.
That car is such a pain to carry down from the 3rd floor, especially when I have to carry August down with it.... so we play with it on the balcony.
August likes geese, and he's really talented at making their sounds.

This was back in August (the month Ü)  He likes going down the slides all by himself.

He thinks it's pretty funny to look through his legs.

 And he loves to dance!

AND.......DRUMROLL..........PRDDDDDDDDDDDDD......
Here's August as a cute little girl.

Enjoy the rest of your week!!!!

Arizona

We are in Arizona now! Chavis has started med school and is doing great; he enjoys it. He loves school and learning.
It's hot here.... our apartment overlooks the pool and sometimes I just stare out at it, cuz it looks so refreshing. I take August swimming about every other day. We were officially welcomed here last night, by the friendly Arizona neighbor, Mr. Scorpion. Which is rare since we're on the 3rd floor, lucky us right? Another reason I'm pessimistic, mom. See, I told you, if it can happen, it'll happen to me.

(Here is where I was going to insert a picture of a scorpion, but after googling scorpion pictures, I was gagging; so I won't do that to you. You're welcome.)

I've been doing lots of errands, trying to put our home together, and doing tiny amounts of crafty projects for decorations. I'll have to do a post on that when I have a more substantial collection.

On other news, a week or so ago I got called from the Art in the Park show in Boise. I applied a couple months ago, but got put on the alternate list. Well, they want me to be in it. It starts tomorrow.... There's no way I could've done it in such short notice. I was so bummed, thinking of all the possible ways I could make it happen. But I feel good that they chose me. Made me feel pleased with my work. It was a great "pick-me-up."

Removal of a Small Fury Animal

So I decided I wanted a hair change. It was so so very long, and I had it pulled up in a bun 99% of the time, so what was the point? Plus moving to AZ would be much nicer without my enormous fur hat. So I got the locks of love paperwork and I was set on chopping off lots and finally donating..... But I got to the place and where I wanted it was only 8.5 inches.... She said I seemed a little unsure of cutting it where it would need to be in order to donate, and she'd rather me not leave feeling really unhappy and ugly.... Soooo we made the selfish/safe decision. I kinda feel like I should've cut it more to donate, but can't go back now. I just can't believe they can't use all of what I had. Seriously. SO much hair!!! Definitely could've made a wig from this small animal that was removed from my head. I feel kinda bad seeing it all go to waste.

Big Events

August turned ONE!! A few weeks ago... I've been slacking on the blogging. He's such an amazing little boy in every way. The poor boy gets smothered with a million mommy kisses all day, every day. He gets lots of daddy kisses too, but I have the "Lenny Syndrome" as Chavis calls it. It was a simple day with simple plans. Chavis took the day off and we went to the zoo; then we had a couple presents to open and some cake. August didn't really care for the cake. We could have left all his clothes on and they would have looked perfectly clean afterwards.
This zebra walked so close to us, you can see the railing in the bottom right. It was neat. August liked it.

Chavis wouldn't do any of these fun interactive activities...... can't figure out why anyone wouldn't.
Look at the fat one on the right. I want to SQUEEZE him!!!!!

Then the other big news..... We are moving back to AZ. Chavis got accepted to Medical School. We are so blessed and we are so excited!

He was called 6 days before he had to be there. So August and I have been daddy-less for a week now. 2 more weeks to go till we get down there to join him. He's lucky to have his brother's family living by the school so he can stay with them. We are so grateful for their long hospitality until Chavis can start moving into our apartment August 10th. We'll be an hour from my family which is pretty exciting as well.
