A few of Ty's favorite things

There are some things that I especially hope to never forget about my little guy. Things that melt my heart or crack me up when he does them... here are two.... one of Ty's favorite things these days is to blow raspberries on any surface he comes across... including the table, floor, chairs, the oven door, fridge, and my leg... but his favorite is the leather ottoman... I think cause it makes extra loud noises. The other is playing with door stoppers until the fall off... I find them all over the house and half the time have no idea what door they belong to. I had to catch him on video so I can always remember how he made me laugh when he'd do these small and simple things.

Inna & Alina came to visit

I've been terrible at reading posts these last three weeks... so sorry! ...being out of town and then my 17 year old twin sisters ...Inna and Alina... came to visit me for the last two weeks. Well... it was supposed to be for eight days but their flight ended up being canceled so they stayed an extra 6 days!! Which I was so happy about because we have a great time together. We had so much shopping and going to the movies... boating... Temple Square... the zoo. I love it when these girls are around... they make me feel young again. Now I'm so sad they are gone!

An amazing trip to Temple Square. We spent the entire day here. A Sister Missionary from Ukraine gave us a tour and talked to the girls in Russian the entire time. They told me that she told them the story about how someone gave her a book of Mormon, she read it, and it changed her life. We watched the Testaments in Russian as well. They had such a great time... they weren't wanting to leave.

We had so much fun going boating... both the girls tried wake boarding for the first time and did great... they both got up and had a blast. ...this is Inna wake boarding.
Alina wake boarding.
And of course fun on the tube... until someone gets hurt!!

P.s. for those of you who don't know my parents adopted these girls from the Ukraine about a year and half ago. They didn't know any English when they first came here. They have been so much fun to have in our family.

Funny things Ukrainians say... do...
1. I came home to them watching the Spanish channel...
2. They saw a picture if me with my pierced belly button (...back in the day) and said "baby problem?" (they thought maybe that was the reason I've had trouble getting pregnant)
3. When I pushed the garage door opener in my car to open the garage they were fascinated .... "how?!!" as they pointed to the opening garage. And then fought over who got to push it each time we came home. :)
4. As they see me filling my cup with Diet Coke... "Diet... make you skinny?" ...ummmm ya .... sure it will!
5. Trying on clothes... when something is to small they say "it's to tiny" and when something is to big they say "it's to huge" ... I love it... it's so cute!
.... I will add to the list as I think of them... I want them to be able to read these when they get older.

All because two people fell in love

Grandma Betty & Grandpa Ralph Pearson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary... can you imagine!... this past week and planned a fun BBQ with the entire family including a family picture. It was so fun to see everyone together with all their children and to see how many people have generated from these two amazing people. They are such fun grandparents and great grandparents. Drew and I hope to live as long and as happily as they have.

This is a picture of them and their children... two have pasted on... they had seven children. Drew's dad is the oldest son... top left.
This picture is of all their grandchildren... excluding Patti :(... she's in Florida. Drew is on the top left second over.
This is the CUTEST picture of them with all their great-grandchildren!! So Precious! ...and look at all those babies! Ty is on the Top left being held by his cousin Colton.

I got my swap package!... and goodbye to Aunt Patti

I was so happy to come home from Cali to find my swap package!!! ... for those of you who don't know what a "swap" package is... it's when you sign up to be a part of a swap... my freind Kelly had one... and then you recieve and send a package to someone that usually you don't know... it's so fun! I got Yummy chocolate... my absolute weakness, fun spa supplies, a cute notebook, and a great quote from my favorite Apostle... Jeffrey Holland. I had the best time enjoy chocolate from London!!! Thank you so much Louise... I loved the package!

My next post I will share with you about my happy travels home and my 10 year reunion!! ...what... aren't I still 16? But in the mean time...

Cali part 1

The cabin where we stay every summer. ... and me and my dad laying in the sun.
Ty and Ben playing in the cupboards!

Ty climbed these extremely steep stairs all by himself!!

Ty and Emma.

My sisters...doing what we did most of the weekend... soaked up some sun!

All of Ty's cousins on my side. ..Trying to get a good picture of all of them all together is almost impossible!!

Here's Ty playing with my sister's newest addition... Sam.

Last Thursday I arrived here in Arcata... Cali... with my family and I've been having a great time. First thing Friday morning we left for Willow Creek (45 min away) to spend the weekend with my entire family at our neighbors cabin who graciously lets us use it every summer. All the cousins had a great time playing together and Ty learned how to pull things out of the cupboard... thanks to Benjamin... so we will now be getting locks put our cupboard at home. We spent most of our time in the pool and enjoying the sunshine.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. I will be here until Sunday.... and Ty and I miss Drew like crazy!!
