Summer 2012

What a great summer! A summer of a family visiting, getting settled into a new house and the birth of a baby (Not mine!).
Rachelle and Darryl had their beautiful baby girl on June 20, 2012.

The grandparents came out from Austin to see our new house. What a great visit!! It was so cute to see Phill and his grandpa spending time together working on the house. Janie and I had a blast watching old shows and chatting about everything! Brianna and Mikes family came down to visit and have dinner. The Sunday before they went home, we all went downtown to see the Mormon Tabernacle choir. The week went by too fast!!

Michael and Stephanie took the boys to Disneyland and to Sacramento for a week. They absolutely had the best time!! They were able to do Jedi Training, and then fight Darth Vader!  After 2 days of Disneyland and a day at the beach, they made the long trip back to Sacramento. While in Sacramento,  the boys were able to spend a couple days with their other Grammy and Grampy and spend time with their Uncles, Aunts and cousins.  While the boys were gone, Phill and I had a week to ourselves. We took advantage of the boys being gone to have a date night with Darryl and Rachelle and go to Lagoon with Anbes and Betty. We had a blast, but by the end of the week, we were ready for our babies to be home!

At the end of summer, the boys and I made a weekend trip to California with the Bell family! It was a little hectic with 6 kids driving over 600 miles but we made it!! We had a great time hanging out with both sides of the family!! I also got together with my girlfriends from Jr. high! We had a blast.

A great summer with great family and friends.

Home Sweet Home

                                                        Phill signing for our house!!
Our wonderful Realtor, Brian Hardman
We bought our first home!!!!
After 6 long months of house hunting and many disappointments of losing a house to someone else, we have found the perfect house for us! We are so excited to start this new chapter of our lives being being home owners!! It needs some work, but it is ours!!!

It was really hard to leave our close friends at Willow Cove, but they are more than friends, they are family. We will always make time to hang out and have get togethers!! The first couple nights, Chase kept asking when we were going home. I told him, this is our home, he replied,"This is our house, I wanna go home." Broke my heart. The boys are adjusting well now, there is definitely not a shortage of kids to play with on our street!

Tee-Ball Fun

For years, Phill has waited for the moment for the boys to play on a baseball team. Isaiah was on the Blue Bees team. Chase and his best buddy, Teagan were on the Blue Whales.  The games were an hour long. They didn't really keep score at this age (some parents did). The coaches set the lineup and each kid got an at-bat, off the tee, every inning. The ninth batter, by rule, hits a home-run. No matter how he hits it or how far it goes, he gets to run all of the bases and slide into homeplate to end every inning. It is pretty informal, there were even parents in the outfield of Chase's team since it was mostly 3 and 4 year olds.
Isaiah started off hitting from the Tee, but by the 3rd game, he was hitting the ball being pitched to him by the coach. He is left handed but would hit it hard with either hand.  Chase, on the other hand, could barely lift the bat to hit it off the tee. It was pretty cute!
The season lasted 8 games and are both so proud of their first baseball trophy!!

TexMex

Probably the best vacation we have ever had as a family! We flew into Austin on Wednesday, and had a great visit with Mama Grande, Grandpa Woody, Aunt Terri, Uncle Jeff, and Aaron. They were so gracious to us. When we arrived, Janie had  huge AWESOME lunch made for us. Which included homemade tamales and tortillas! Yummy!! We went to Zilker park, where Chase got a nice goose egg on his head:) Then Jeff took us on a drive around the great city of Austin! The boys loved getting to know their cousin Aaron, whom they still talk about all the time! On Friday, we left for Houston to meet up with the rest of the family. We spent the afternoon and evening at
Carol and Donny's visiting, playing games and
celebrating Grandpa Woody's birthday. Saturday
morning, we drove to Galveston to board the
Carnival Triumph for a 6 day cruise. We had a blast!! It was so nice being able to eat whenever you wanted, not having to do dishes! We swam, went down the water slide, played games, and best of all visit with family. Isaiah and Hannah swam with dolphins, which was AWESOME!! We are so thankful we got to go on this trip of  a lifetime..
