Boots are best broken in...

I decided I was going to run away this morning...Sometimes it seems easier than facing the decisions I have to make as I grow up. Just run away, get as far away from MY life as I possibly can. I could start college somewhere else, get a job, leave behind everything. A fresh start....A new start...NEW...I love that word. It speaks to me...

Like a new, fresh piece of paper, begging me to put words and flavor on it.
A new planner, perfect for recording and organizing my hectic life.
A new friend, exciting and easy to get along with.
A new outfit, one that gives me confidence.
A new eraser, perfectly innocent, not knowing the mistakes it will face.
A new pair of socks, soft and thick, padding the ground as I walk.
A new snow, serene and white, with the calming silence that always follows it's fall.
A new day...just like the one I had before me.....

With that last thought streaming through my head, I rolled on to the end of my bed and faced the NEW day with a smile...I knew I should get moving. If I was going to run away, then I would at least need to pack some clothes....A fresh start yes, but not that fresh. My eyes wandered over to my closet, jammed with books, blankets, shoes...and that's when I saw them: my boots. I love my boots. Not my beat up riding boots, but my mahogany Justin's, with pink designs on the top, and just enough heel to make my legs look long...ok longer. I wear them all the time now, now that I have them broken in. You see, boots are painful when they...when they, are...new...It is not until you have worn them day after day, blister after blister, through the snow and sunshine, that they finally mold to your feet, and become part of you. Boots are best broken in...

.....Oh......

I knew it then. I got out of bed, pulled my boots on, and walked out that door without looking back. I faced today head-on. I knew I could do it, because you see....boots are best broken in.

DUN Dun dun.....

As of this moment, I am going to do something that very few people have ever done (at least that I know of, and I don't know much, that is for sure). I am going to combine......dun dun dun....CHURCH AND SOCIOLOGY! Yipes! Now, before you quit reading for fear of being struck down, think of this, I WROTE it, and I am still here! And so, without further wait, I shall attempt the impossible:
The other day in institute, we talked about how much easier it will be in this life to take care of habits, addictions, and the likes, rather than trying to in the next. That hit me with the force of a semi-truck. I have heard it before, and yet this time it really seemed to sink in. What about my anger? What about my jealousies? What about my.....oh no....not my CHOCOLATE!!!!!
And so, to help me overcome the above problems and others I shall add later, I am going to use my Sociology knowledge. Yes, Dr.Parks would be proud. :D While doing my 8.2 hour homework assignment over the weekend, I learned a very valuable tip; another tid-bit I have known for a long time, yet I finally LEARNED. I am going to WRITE IT ALL DOWN...Yes, that is what I shall do....And so here we go folks:

I need to overcome:
-Anger issues...I don't know if they have punching bags in the next life. Therefore I need to control my fury NOW
-I control Chocolate. Chocolate does not control me. I control Chocolate. Chocolate does not control me. I control Chocolate. Chocolate does not control me.....:'(
-"Sigh"...My jealousy of those with nice skin. Yes, I have freckles. I am as white as the marshmallow man. I do not tan. I am painfully aware of that all, so PLEASE DO NOT REMIND ME OK???? But, that is alright....hhhmmm
-I will have issues with certain individuals my whole if I do not learn how to let their . . . . . . . (and no, those are not bad words. They are qualities that I do not like, insults that I have taken, tears that I have cried, and times that I have been hurt because of them) go. I think this will be my hardest, depending on how my future works out. But, the atonement solves everything. I remind myself of that constantly....

....Ok ok ok, that is a lot to work on...Hello, look at that list!! But, I feel better now. I can do it, with my Father in Heaven, I have no doubt I can. Well, I best get started on it huh? I only have a mortal lifetime! Oh boy, that all of a sudden doesn't sound like enough time... eeepp...I shall now bid you all a fare-thee-well!!! I am going to take the first step to my betterment..prayer and bed.

Night Y'all!!!

It is MY MOUTH...and I am not responsible for it...

I can't help it! Sometimes things just spill out of my mouth, and it is not my fault...It is like having a kid, and you have no idea what they are going to say next. But, it is me! And I should be able to control that, but no...this is what I have to do:

I am the Young Single Adult rep in my ward. (I'm pretty sure they put me in there for two reasons 1. Because I am just about the only female that age in my ward and 2. So I would actually start going.) Well...it just so happens that we are lacking females in the stake, so at one FHE, as we were all sitting around a table getting ready to play Apples to Apples...I realized I was the only girl with 8 guys...EIGHT guys, and not of that matters because I love Tate. How stinky is that? Being in a room full of guys, and only wanting one, that just so happens to be across the world? So, of course, I have to spurt out the first thing that comes to my mind "You guys all need to get girlfriends." Ouch! Complete and total silence...AWKWARD!!! How was I supposed to know thats a sore spot for guys on the market?? So, I did what any smart person would do...regained my dignity by beating them all into the ground at Apples to Apples, and left as soon as I could, hoping that my tires had not been slashed.

Now this story, I decided to take on a whole group of homies....Okay okay okay, it is not as dramatic as that, but it sounds good does it not? Well, it was the night of NEW MOON (Awesome movie btw) and my mom decided that we needed to go grocery shopping afterwards...um, some of us do need beauty sleep mother, me more than others! It is not a pretty sight if I don't...Anywho, Hannah and I were walking past the sporting goods section, when we passed a group of homies. This is what we heard "Ya, those (well I can't say what they said but it started with a d and ended with an n) Mormons..." But, they didn't get to finish what they were saying because we stopped right in front of them, and I said "I'm a Mormon!" with the biggest cheeseburger smile I could possible muster...Once again...silence and stares. And once again, I did what any smart person would do...looked the beast in the eye...then smiled "Um, ya" and walked of quickly...

....My mouth has gotten me pretty good at walking. Maybe it will now teach my rear how to get in shape...hhhmmm I think I'll work on that.

Dear Dr....I am psychotic

How old am I? Well, I am 18 years old. In my 18 years, I have not been sick. No, sicknesses, disease, and any other bodily virus fear me like the plague. Therefore, the only times I have been to the Dr. have been emergencies or physicals. So, recently, I have not been able to breath, which freaks me out. Hello, oxygen is a necessity!!!
Now, my mom scheduled me an appointment at 3:30. I finished classes at 2:52, and then I scurried my little toosh and sexy minivan down to Antonito at approximately 3:28. On time! I then proceeded to swiftly scurry into the Dr.'s office, ready to be diagnosed with a major diagnoses.
Well, I have never been to the Dr.'s office, and therefore unaware of what I should do. But, I pretty much figured that I had to check in or something. As I was waiting at the front desk, (there was no nurse), I felt a tingling in the middle of my back. Something was burning through me, and I knew exactly what it was. I whipped around, and there they were. Ten pairs of eyes, trying to see through me, and at the same time giving me the look, "You haven't done this before, have you?"
Then, one of the closer pairs spoke. "Girlfriend, you don't need to wait there."
"Are you sure?"
"Oh ya honey. Did you call before?"
"Ya."( a lie, my MOM called)
"Well girl, sit down. You are hurting my legs."
So I sat. I sat so long that I was forgotten, passed by, and almost locked up. Finally, I figured that I was supposed to check in, and by then, it was 5:01. Ya, I'm a greeny.
After the wait, I finally found out what was wrong with me....I am crazy! Also, I am allergic to something, which causes my throat to close up, causing anxiety attacks. Or something like that. I prefer the crazy part though ;)
