I {kera} rarely participate in these things but it has slowed down at work so I thought I would give it a try ...

new shoes for a new calling

Well, here it is ... new shoes for a new calling. That is the reason we went on a shopping spree the past couple weeks. Sorry to disappoint. I think some were hoping for more exciting news. The new calling was just for Brad but since he got some new good looking clothes I felt a little left out so he let me use his calling as an excuse to get me some new clothes too. 

He was set apart today as the Elders Quorum president with two great counselors. I'm looking forward to getting to know their wives better. Brad is an amazing husband and I have no doubt that he will do an amazing job serving those in our ward. As of now there is little adjusting to do ... and we both feel very good about this. When we met with our stake president {Pres. Jardine} a couple weeks ago he said a lot of things that gave us both comfort.

So there it is ... the answer to a much anticipated question.

an excellent personal shopper

Brad and I had a blissful weekend. It started bright and early Saturday morning because I had to be in Salt Lake to shoot a wedding by eight. You can see pictures and read more about it here.

Since the wedding was so early I was able to get home by noon so we could do some serious shopping. I was in desperate need of a new skirt and Brad is an excellent personal shopper for me. In order to guarentee that we would enjoy one anothers company during our search we had to eat first. We went to Goodwood {one of our favorite bbq places} and then onto TJ Max. We weren't successful in the skirt department but I did leave with a really cute bag and hat. We also got him a belt to match his fabulous shoes he bought two weeks ago. Our next stop was Dillards which I am glad to report we were successful in finding me a new skirt and shirt {thanks to brad's great taste} and then we found a second shirt at Sears. I was definitely spoiled and I must say between Brad's new clothes {from a previous shopping trip} and mine, we were one good looking couple at church yesterday.

Why all the new clothes? Because ...

1. we have been talking about getting some for a while now

2. a recent change gave us the excuse to finally stop talking about it and do it

What recent change? ... more on that later.

reason to smile

Brad came home early from work last Friday {february eighth} and we went snowmobiling. There was a lot of powder up there which meant getting stuck more than usual. So we were able to get a good workout and build our muscles. We always have fun and enjoy the time we get to spend together.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who repsonded to my call for help. Every talk I read or heard was wonderful and it was hard trying to decide what few snippets to include.
