10 College Football Predictions - Week 14

Last week was close.  A 4-6 record could have easily been an 8-2 record.  I was 1 point away from winning the Ohio State - Michigan game.  Texas Tech lost in overtime by 7 and they had 3.5 points.  I had Wisconsin (+2) and they lost to Penn State in overtime by 3.  And Southern Cal played a flawed game but almost covered vs. Notre Dame.

It is Championship Weekend for those conferences that have Championship games.  I have 6 of those games picked.  I have also taken 9 favorites this week.  The one underdog?  Georgia.  You can laugh now.

Rick Wins 4th Pick 'Em Week!

CONGRATULATIONS to Rick for winning the Week 12 Pick ‘Em Blog Challenge and his 4^th win.  This guy is a pick ‘em stud!  We’ve got to conk this guy on the noggin and pack him up to Vegas.  (Hey Rick, please pick my PowerBall picks this week!!!  PLLEEEEZZEEE!!!) 

Now, shall we talk about that freaking debacle in the Texans vs. Lions game?  What a crock of hot, moist, stinking cow shit that challenge rule is!  This is an example of the rules committee losing its mind.  Okay, well, when they implemented it, I guess it seemed to make sense…kinda like the MLB infield fly rule—it prevents one team from employing some trickeration.  But one man’s trick is another’s “strategy.”  So, what’s wrong with throwing the red flag to give yourself some time to think?  If you ask me, that mess about “spiking” the ball to stop the clock is a crock of turds—that should intentional grounding.  Either way, the Lions should have been given the benefit of the doubt by the automatic replay and the zebras should have called that BS touchdown back.  But dem’s the rulz, huh?

The List Of NFL Coaches In Trouble - Week 13

This is a list ranking the coaches that I believe are in trouble about holding their jobs past this season.  Right now, I believe that the Top 8 in the list are either Dead Man Walking or close to it.  The others on the list might be fired, based upon what their teams do over the final weeks of the season.  The thing is that there are some assistants getting fired by the Head Coach in order to try and placate the Owner or General Manager that has the fate of the Head Coach in their hands.  How can you say that continuity is important and then sacrifice an assistant to try and keep your job?  Something I don't get.  Anyways, let's get to the list.

10 College Football Predictions - Week 13

Another winning week for myself.  A 6-4 record which brings me to 5 games over .500.  I picked both Baylor and Stanford with points last week.  I cannot believe that the Iowa Hawkeyes suck so badly this year.  Kirk Ferentz probably should be asked to move on because he didn't earn his $3 Million + salary this year with a 4-8 season.  And the North Dakota State Bison are Ranked #1 in the FCS playoffs starting this weekend.  So there is a positive this year for my teams in college football.

Figuring Out That There Are 2 Types Of Candy

A kid in Atlanta gets candy and then sees candy.  I believe that he is growing up.  They start young, don't they.

WEEK 12 Pick 'EM Challenge Winner

 

CONGRATULATIONS to Zeb for winning the Week 11 Pick ‘Em Blog Challenge.  Just like his Patriots, he blew the challengers away sweeping the field with a perfect 14 wins--the Skunk Rule is in effect!  This was a high scoring week with a lot of "almost" upsets:  The Panthers almost pulled out a second win in a row; the Browns nearly toppled the Boys; the Lions came close to chewing up the Meat Packers; the Ravens had to fight to hold off the Ravens, and the Jaguars came close to knocking off the Texans. 

While all of these games were close, Jim, AA, Rick, Shelly and Robbie nearly snagged Zeb.  But in the end, it was the Zebster who stood alone!  Good show!!!
