B is for.....

I don't know about the rest of you, but Family Home Evening is always a little interesting at our house. I'm leaving it at that.
Yesterday was no different.
We had talked about the creation and how we know how the world was created. At the end of our lesson we decided to go around in a circle and name something that Our Heavenly Father created for us with each letter of the alphabet.
I started, G was next with the letter B.
We said, "Okay, G, what did Heavenly Father create for us that starts with the letter B." He thinks for a minute and then innocently says, 'Buttocks!'
No one could contain their laughter.
Who knew he even knew that word?!

new specs all around

This is G in his brand new glasses. It makes him look so much older.
BUT even better, it was 68 beautiful degrees today, so the kids were able to go outside.
Oh, it was so GLORIOUS!
I LOVE sunshine!

He is adjusting to wearing his new glasses pretty well. He isn't one to complain much, so it would have to be pretty bad for him to say anything. I keep asking him if he can see better and he just shrugs and says 'yup' He was really nervous to go into school, and made me take him into his classroom, he didn't want anyone to see him so he hid behind me walking in. BUT his teacher, who also has glasses, was great. She helped him through the day. He asked if he would ALWAYS have to wear them, I told him about contacts, or surgery when he gets older, he was quite hopeful.
Cute little kiddo.
G wanted to try these out on B, he wasn't sure what to think
These were the 'disposable' shades that the dr. office gave G when he left their office. They had to dilate his pupils and they were super sensitive, he loved them!

two snuggle bugs

I dont think I will ever get tired of these two little snugglers.
Anytime I lay B down on the floor, J creeps over to him, covers him up, bring herself a pillow and snuggles right in next to him. It it so sweet! B doesn't seem to mind either.

my little creator

I dont know where this little guy of mine got his genes from, but he is my creator!
Every day he comes home from school and rushes to the computer desk, pulls out paper, scissors, glue, tape, markers, whatever, and he makes little things.
yesterday he made a little bed for his stuffed animal dog, ziggy. Complete with feather pillow, and a little paper towel blanket. It cracks me up.
The other day, he came home and went straight for the legos. He made Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb. Not to shabby. I LOVE his creative side!

pinewood derby

Once again, the pinewood derby rolled around.
C let K decide everything about his car. They did it exactly how he wanted it.
He was super excited!
I stayed home because B wasn't feeling well, but I got updates.
He took first out of his troop, and came in 5th out of 60ish kids.
C said one car was SO fast, he was looking for an engine.
It is always so fun for K, he looks forward to it every year.

what we've been up too lately.....

Snuggling with sis while watching tv and watching little B get bigger and bigger
Playing with our favorite toy

Finishing a large project that included:
cutting 650 tags on my cricut
cutting out, by hand, 1,200 quotes by pres. monson
mounting quotes on tags
laminating 80 sheets of tags and hand cutting those
another girl and me split up the work and got these done for the women in our relief society, one of our stake goals is to learn about president monson, we thought this was a great start!

Getting over the stomach bug
It only lasted 1/2 a day and J was the only one who got it, but it happened just as we were eating dessert with the elders. At least she wasn't at the table. poor girly.

Last week, little B was just miserable. I kept thinking maybe he's teething, but by Wednesday, he was beyond miserable, barely napping, hardly eating and ornery as a wet hen. So i took him into the Doc, double ear infection! Poor kiddo, I hate it that babies cant tell me what's wrong, and its a guessing game. Luckily, we kept him on motrin, and started his antibiotic, the little man is finally starting to feel better.
AND
So I got a letter from G's school saying he failed on eye test. I called the eye doc and they had just had a cancellation and they got me in the next day (they said it would have been 2 or more months otherwise). I felt like it was a blessing, not so much a blessing when i woke up in the morning and found out the kids had a 2 hour delay for school, which meant dragging them all through the never ending catacombs of the hospital. BUT, after being examined, the doc said HE NEEDS GLASSES! WHAT!!!! C and I both have great eye sight, where does this come from?!? I don't even know where to go to get glasses, it will be a new adventure for all of us. I'm hoping he takes to glasses better than putting in eye drops, that was an adventure in and of itself for the nurse and I. BUT on the good side, he got to miss a day of school because the drops make his vision blurry and sensitive to light, so not all bad.
Here's hoping for a quick transition into the new world of sight.

Some funny things the kids have said,
I was looking on all recipes. K walked into the room and saw a side bar that said 'the world's best lasagna'. He shockingly said,' mom, don't you want to print that recipe off, i mean it is the worlds BEST lasagna.'

G was watching the Today show after the super bowl and he said 'mom, what do the packers do, i mean, we ALL know what the steelers do...."

As I was dropping G off at school one morning, he said, mom, do you know that cats are creditors? I said, really, how do you know. He said, because they chase mice, so that means they are creditors.....

J had been home all day with no brothers, as usual, and was having a hard time keeping occupied. I kept suggesting things, she would do it and then walk in a couple minutes later wanting something else to do. I think she had finally had it and walked up to me and very frustratedly said, 'MOM, I AM SO BORING!'
