This post is going to be dedicated to my favorite Christmas present... But I will get back to that in a little bit. Blake and I are in Texas, and have been since the 23rd. If you are in Texas as well you know that it is about 75 degrees outside and feels NOTHING like Christmas. There are also other factors that play into the fact that this year has not really felt "like Christmas." It has been great getting to spend time with my family and our friends, which is the only thing that has made it feel like the holidays. It just seems weird to not really care about presents anymore... Weird but good. Don't get me wrong I still really love getting presents but I guess I am FINALLY realizing that Christmas is not all about presents. In fact it is nothing about presents and everything about Christ and what He means. Christmas is not about presents anymore but... I will return to the initial reason for creating this post. My favorite present...
You might think it would be any of the new clothes I got, or the sweet Northface down coat I got from Blake (Close 2nd), or the adorable stuffed polar bear I got from Blake's parents. But no, in fact it is none of those things. Most of you will probably think that it is the silliest of any present I got but it is MY favorite. Blake's sister Emily got me a Gryffindor scarf, just like the one that they used in the 3rd movie!!! When I opened it up I was so excited I almost started crying! I know it sounds silly but I was not expecting it at all.
This long blog was written all to say that my favorite Christmas present this year was a maroon and gold scarf and, it is too hot in Texas to even think about wearing it! Thanks for the scarf Em!

Too Busy, too bored
Sometimes it seems like I'm either firing on all cylinders, running wide-open. OR, I'm bored. It's hard to make sense of it, but I feel most alive when I'm doing that race car thing. By the way, I saw this thing about "drifting" on Discovery Theater HD, and I'm thinking about tricking out Moriah's Cavalier and trying it out. Thank you for not skipping this paragraph.
This post is an amendment and explanation to Moriah's last post. As you can see in the photo of the happy couple, my left hand is located in the upper-hip region of Moriah's side. You will notice the excess hair matted on the top of that hand. This is messed up. My arms are seriously hairy and I don't know why. Fortunately, I have not started to wear gloves indoors. Coming up, read a funny story.
So what's the deal with pubes getting everywhere.
I remember when I was in the dorm living with my good friend Jeff. We didn't exactly vacuum, but we kept the place pretty tidy. Well, the floor was a different matter. Drop a sweater on the floor, and you were making a trip to the drycleaners. Pubes were everywhere, along with other types of hair from various cracks and crevices on the body.
Apparently things haven't changed, but the stakes are a bit higher now. The other day I was in the state capitol interviewing my good friend Phil Bredesen. Actually, we're not friends and I wasn't interviewing him, but I did have my mic in his face and he was answering my question and looking me in the eyeball. Fortunately he wasn't looking at the windscreen on my mic. That little foam ball had a pube sticking straight up out of it like it had been sewn into it.
Now I de-pube the screen before any interview, even with homeless people.
Love life, love your wife. Merry Christmas

This is just a picture of Blake and me after we went for a run on a super cold night... Our dinky, but beautiful, Christmas tree is in the background. Don't worry I'm going to be submitting another SUPER interesting post tomorrow. I have plenty of time to do it at work... but I just don't want to get caught ;-) Until tomorrow!
