Quiet oh so quiet

You would think I would have learned by now that when the house is quiet something is amiss, not that all is right in the world. Ben and I were having what we thought was a quiet night with the kids when I looked at the time and realized it was time for the kids to be put to bed. I thought man this is going to be easy. That should have been my first clue. Daisy had been her normal 5yo self and we had sent her to her room much earlier and she had fallen asleep and so I thought oh this is wonderful. Lilly went to Daisys room too and had fallen asleep too. Not quite. So upon entering Daisys room and seeing no Lilly I walked to Lilly room hoping she was quietly sleeping. No Lilly. I thought oh no she made it outside with the boys and I didn't know it. So I yell to the boys. No Lilly. By now I'm starting to freak out. Where the heck can this child be? I look in the bathrooms, laundry room, boys room. No luck. I'm really having a moment of panic. Thinking ok she went outside and someone took her or she wandered off and is lost now. Sheer panic! I calm myself down and decided I should check my room, but the door is closed she can't possible be in there. Much to my surprise the tv is one. Ok Ben must have left it on when he was up there earlier. No, then I realize I smell something kinda stinky. Look on my bed and there is my sweet little girl that I was worried that I had lost some how covered in what used to be a full bottle of pink fingernail polish. ALL OVER MY BED! All over her legs, feet, toes, arms and hands. Luckily I walked in when I did or it would have been all over my night stand too. So when you think, Oh the quiet is so nice, you might think again. So much for the easy bed time. I spent about 30mins scrubbing her down with acetone trying to get it all off. Then washing her to make sure the acetone didn't make her break out. Then I had to change our sheets and make our bed again. Not an easy night!

H.alloween

Halloween 2010. It was a crazy year. We forgot to take photos when we went to our church party. The young women had a room of games for the kids to play so I was a little busy with that and then Tim decided that he wanted to bring his friend Elad. So getting to church on time and with all our stuff, it was a little harry. So needless to say we made it to church without the camera so we have no photos this year of all the cool costumes and let me tell you there were some pretty neat ones this year. Two families came as Mario Brothers characters. After all was said and done we were emptying out the car, low and behold guess what we found? Yep, you guessed it the camera. We had it the whole time and never even knew it. Guess thats life with 5 kids!
















I put a bunch of make up on Daisy but by the time this photo was taken she had rubbed most of it off. I made her eyes to look like she had a glittery mask on.































Zach went as a Rock Star on Halloween but for the church party he went in a ripped shirt and I gave him a black eye and gave him a bloody lip. Then made his scars on his legs have blood com out of them. He told people his mom beat him up. Nice huh?

















By this time Lilly was less than enthused. She was really tired. She went as a cute skeleton. She had gloves that had the bones in the arms but she kept pulling them off and then her pants had bones on them too.
















This was the loot. With out Tims. Tim went trick or treating with a friend. Tim went as a football player.

Kortney's Blessing

Don't we have the cutest baby ever? We blessed Kortney on Sept 24th. Grandma Adams came in and so did Grandpa. Uncle Jesse, Grandpa,Uncle Richard, Matthew Nevels, Bishop James, and Chad O'Gorman stood in the circle. The cool thing about it was since Zach is 12 now he got to be the deacon who got to hold the microphone. So if felt like Zach got to be part of the circle too. It was a special day.

Pump.kin Patch

When Grandma Adams came to visit we went to the pumpkin patch. This is something that she loves doing with the grand kids and this year she got all the kids except Tom's. Maybe one year she will get ALL of us together.

It all started by sticking just one little hand out off the front porch. Then she stuck her head out just a little bit. Then came a huge smile and she took off and never came back. She played in the rain for 30 minutes! It really works out great, because now I don't have to give her the bath she needed.

Only 2 weeks old! She's still so little. Not even back to birth weight yet. But oh so cute!

Daisy's 1st Lost Tooth

Daisy lost her first tooth today. She has been working on this tooth for about a month now. Wiggling it back and forth. Telling everyone, "don't touch". Everyone she tells about her loose tooth asks if she wanted help. Many of the ideas were: punch it out, pull it out with pliers, tie a string around it and slam a door. Needless to say she didn't like any of those ideas.

Well tonight when Aunt Janah and Uncle Richard were here all of us got her worked up to try again. She got tired of all the taunting and went to the bathroom to have some alone time and she came running back to the living room smiling from ear to ear. "It came out" Of course we made a huge deal about it and put that amazing tooth in a bag and she ran it up to her room so she could get it ready for the tooth fairy.

Baby #5

Since its been over a year since we posted something real now sure sounds like a good time.

On Sept 2, 2010 we welcomed Kortney Renea to our family. Making our family officially HUGE!

She weighed 7lbs 0.02 oz and was 19 3/4 in long. She was born at 11:30am after only being in labor for about 2 hours. The doctor broke my water at 9:30am and with a little help from pitocin she made it here at 11:30.

I say only being in labor for 2 hours but really it has been about 3 months of labor, with all the pre-term labor.

Update

If you hadn't noticed I have taken a long break from blogging. Our last post was from Utah which happened almost 6months ago. A lot has happened since then. We had a great holiday season. We spent it with family which always makes things better.

My niece moved home from Florida which I am totally excited for. She has been gone for almost 5 years and I have missed her so much. So welcome home Mary and Dave we love you guys.

We have three weddings in the family this year and actually two are just a day apart. One for my family and two for Ben's. We are so excited that our family is expanding. Sarah (my family) has meet the most awesome guy (next to Ben) in the world. He's perfect for her. They will be married in May. Ben's little bro Rhett is getting married in May one day after Sarah so that is kinda bummer because we had to decided who's wedding we were going to. Rhett won since Ben is in the wedding party. Sort of, he's an usher. Then Ben's older sister Trena is getting hitched too. We are so excited for her. She has found an amazing "Canadian". He is pretty nice and easy to get along with.

The kids have been busy with school. Zach is in band and had his first concert in December. It was good for a bunch of 6th graders. Tim does safety patrol during the week and really enjoys it. Who wouldn't like to boss around a bunch of younger kids. He gets to tell them to slow down, don't run, and take kids to class if they are scared. We tried to get Daisy into preschool that is provided by the school system but she doesn't meet their criteria. So for now she is still bored at home. Lilly is almost 18 months and has learned to use the bar stool to climb on the counters. She pushes that thing all over the place to get what she wants.

We totaled out our van a few weeks ago by, as Ben says, killing Rudolph. So we have a new van. The kids are extremely excited because it has a DVD player in it. That's all I can think of for now. I will post some new family photos when I get our CD back. They are wonderful.

Family Utah Trip (Part 2)

WE took the family to Salt Lake to Temple Square to do a scavenger hunt but ended up just goofing off and playing in the reflecting pool. Then we went across the street to the Conference Center and took the tour there. It was cool since we had conference this past week, so the kids remembered being there while they were watching conference.
