I was getting ready to leave at what I consider an early hour of the
morning, although even at five o'clock there are a few intrepid souls
already at work....
Truly one of a kind! I always got in trouble as a kid.. for thinking to much. lol. Now, WTH does THAT mean? My husband and children are lucky.. I encourage them to think beyond mere humans..
I blog on another forum.. and just allow it to feed to google as a back-up blog.
I have nearly 300 China photos to optimize before I can post anymore. If you missed the few that I posted yesterday.. they are right below this blog entry! Oldest child is now off and down the road. Hopefully, we'll see him again this year! lol. He did leave behind two Tahoe backseats for us though!! Actually, the poor kid lives out of a hotel.. so, I know he needs the room in his vehicle! lol. He brought us the full set of the terra cotta soldiers/horses. A ton of magnets. And a HUGE box of Chinese old coins for hubby and his brother.
Been doing laundry and stuff today. I am writing this blog.. cause.. I'm chickening out.. I don't want to go downstairs and see if the "pink" has gotten out of my youngest son's favorite shorts! lol. If not.. sigh.. I'll be over at the store buying him a new pair. I hope the bleach works!! Do you know how long it's been since I've PINKED anything?? Jeeeeeeeeeez.. I feel like a ding dong! One new red shirt.. wadded up in a towel.. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.. yea.. I KNOW.
Ok! Time to go downstairs and see if I'm on my way to the sporting good store or not.

What Your Underwear Says About You
You tend to buy new underwear instead of doing laundry.
You're comfortable in your own skin - and don't care to impress anyone.
Our oldest son had a GREAT time in China this August!! He went over there without ONE hotel reservation! Just a guidebook in hand!! hehe.. Yep, he has learned well!! Luckily, he's fluent in several languages.. when he arrived in Shanghai.. he was able to find a room.. and the adventure began!! He was there for 3 weeks and 4 days. I have tons of pics to optimize.. here are a few!
What it looks like at night.. just how he arrived! With NO reservations!
The architecture is amazing!
The choice of food is.. well.. UGH! He said he even ate scorpion on a stick. No pics of that though. UGH. I swear, he does it to drive me bogwally!
The Great Wall of China enterance.. I believe.
Uphill on the Wall!
Just an amazing view.
Ok, that's all I have time for today! Enjoy the pics! Get off of the net.. and GO have an adventure!! It's SATURDAY!!
Our oldest son called this morning to let us know.. he's on his way home! He'll be here for a few days! We haven't seen him since around Easter! He is 24 years old and very independent! Go figure! lol. He has a long drive ahead of him.. and probably won't get here until much later tonight. He went to China this summer as a birthday gift to himself! And, he's bringing us home goodies!! Otherwise, he'd probably just fly.
I can't wait to see his pictures of China! He really took in alot of the country! Even did the Great Wall!! It cracked me up to hear that his hotel room near the Wall was only $7. But, it cost him $6 to get ON the Wall! lol. I feared that he'd spent the night in one of those funny coffin like hotels that we see pics of on the net. Hey, he's 6'5".. that's a funny visual! But, he said that the room was a nice sized regular room! Go figure!
Our sons are eight years apart.. and yet.. they share ONE very strange life pattern. They BOTH came down with chicken pox on the SAME exact day.. eight years apart! Wild, eh!!
When our oldest was getting ready for his kindergarten Halloween party Oct. 31st in the morning.. I noticed something VERY odd on him as I was putting on his Dracula white face paint. He was covered in a rash. EVERYWHERE. I had Steve look at it.. and it was proclaimed... One child was breaking out in with chicken pox. Poor kid. His face was washed.. he was put back into his PJ's and told that he couldn't go to school OR trick or treating. Now, you can imagine.. this made us the WORST parents on the planet. I mean the WORST.
Child survived not being able to go out with his friends and have a blast. And years later.. made up for it by trick or treating into his high school years. lol. Now, here's the REALLY odd thing. His little brother.. our youngest.. on Halloween morning.. EIGHT years to the day later.. SAME EXACT SCENARIO. I'm NOT kidding. Another child denied of bags of loot, candy and plunder. To this day.. I wonder HOW it was possible for two brothers.. to get the SAME disease.. on the SAME exact day.. eight years apart.
Now.. my best friend's sons.. dropped by our house during our oldest child's chicken pox episode to get loot! Well.. they got more than a treat.. sigh. A few weeks later.. her sons came down with the pox. Her oldest got an extreme case of them. This poor kid had them EVERYWHERE. Even in his throat and lungs. Yea.. who knew they went down there?? We were young and dumb Moms at the time. And, I remember her calling in total frustration. Our doctor had told her to give the boys an oatmeal bath.. and NOW.. the dang tub was plugged with oooey goooey oatmeal.. the kids were miserable.. and WHY would the doctor play THIS trick on her?? OMG.. It took everything I had to stop laughing hysterically.. and tell her he meant a "special" oatmeal bath that one buys at the drugstore.. and NOT REAL oatmeal!!
Lesson learned.. Always ask the pharmasist WHAT the doctor is talking about.. buy plenty of calamine lotion and DO not let the kids scratch.. and put their fingers in their mouths. It's a virus.. and that is how it is spread. So, as we approach Halloween and all of the kiddies going out door to door.. take a REAL close look at the kid handing out the treats! I debated blogging this closer to Halloween.. but, I know that we are coming into the chicken pox season.. and I wanted to let all the young parents know.. you are NOT alone.. and NOT to use real oatmeal!
Everybody's favorite song!! The Chicken Dance!!

This is where I found out.. I had NOTHING to grab onto! Just empty space.. YIPES!

(Article from PC World)
As if Yahoo Inc. didn't have enough trouble already in social networking, a company employee tipped a New York Times reporter by mistake about a new, unannounced service called Yahoo Mash.
Recounting the faux pas in a New York Times blog Wednesday, Brad Stone reported that a Yahoo employee sent him an e-mail saying he had set up a profile for Stone in Yahoo Mash.
After Stone clicked on an e-mail link to visit the profile, he couldn't get past a log-in page. Yahoo representatives later acknowledged to Stone that the service isn't yet open to anyone outside of Yahoo, and that the invitation was sent by mistake. They didn't provide him with more details about Yahoo Mash.
Asked for comment by IDG News Service, a Yahoo spokeswoman said via e-mail on Thursday that the service is at an "alpha" stage of testing in which only Yahoo employees are participating.
Considering that the service apparently includes the creation of profiles for individuals, it would be safe to assume it is some sort of social network, an area where Yahoo officials have acknowledged the company is weak.
TechCrunch, a technology news site that focuses on the Web 2.0 space, reported in July that Yahoo has been secretly working on a new social-networking project called Mosh.
What's not a secret is that the Yahoo 360 social network, introduced in March 2005, has been a disappointment. Several times over the past year, high-ranking Yahoo executives have publicly acknowledged this and indicated the service needs a major overhaul.
Yahoo 360 doesn't appear in a top 10 list of social-networking sites in the U.S. released Thursday by Nielsen/NetRatings. That list of the most popular social-networking sites with U.S. users during August, is topped by News Corp.'s MySpace with 60.3 million unique visitors.
Facebook, which Yahoo reportedly tried unsuccessfully to buy last year for US$1 billion, came in second with 19.2 million unique visitors, a robust 117 percent increase over August of last year, outpacing MySpace's 23 percent growth clip.
Yahoo's weak position in social networking is baffling and has been a source of sharp criticism for the company's top managers. They have been blamed for being asleep at the wheel while MySpace, initially as a startup, went on a tear in the social-networking space, for launching a weak product and also for being unable or unwilling to buy Facebook or another strong competitor.
Yahoo does have other, more successful social-media sites, like social-bookmarking site Delicious, photo-sharing site Flickr and question-and-answer search engine Yahoo Answers. However, it is generally agreed that it needs a strong contender in social networking, one of the hottest types of online services in recent years.

NOTE: I copied this from my friend, Amber.. her blog isn't open to the public and I wanted to let y'all know. Dang it all.. I REALLY thought they were just going from BETA testing to being done. So, NOPE.. start transferring your favorite blogs to another site, I guess. DURN IT.
I waited a day to blog this.. My teenage son can be such a goof sometimes! lol. On Sunday, we started off fishing from Port Aransas on the beach.. but.. the day before had proved unfruitful to EVERYONE.. so, we thought we'd head up the road a bit. There was this neat little fishing pier that charged $3 a fisherman to go out on it. So, we paid our little fee and joined the three other families on the pier!
Now, it's still a bit WARM in Texas! lol. That particular day was running around 90F and super high humidity! Well.. it just wasn't a good day to be fishing. The little guys were feasting on OUR shrimp.. and NOT having the decency to really chomp down and come and see us! Some fish! We did see some neat stuff in the water though! Blue crabs.. and I gotta tell you.. before Sunday.. I would have laughed if anyone told me they existed. But, THEY DO! A little girl near us caught a flying fish! Yep.. wings and all! Kind of a cross between a fish and a bat. Saw some sun fish.. some grass fish.. and lots of boats!
After three hours.. our child.. was bored out of his mind! And, that's when things always get interesting. On the OTHER side of the pier.. he spotted this dead fish floating in the water. Now, it wasn't hard to figure out that the birds had pulled it from the gutting station.. and it was to big to handle.. and they dumped it in the little outlet. That's when OUR child spots it. Now, being a kid.. with a fishing pole IN hand.. Yep.. you know exactly what he did.
He stood there.. dipping his hook into this dead fish's mouth until he FINALLY got it. Pulls it up.. and insists we take pictures. Hey.. this is HIS birthday trip.. ok! Kids.. gotta love'em!
This is one of those days.. that I have to get up with the dang chickens. Think of how happy the farmer and everyone else in the world would be if we didn't have the dang things crowing EARLY in the morning. Why, I would be willing to bet.. that man would have a much later workday had it NOT been for the stupid chickens! Yep.. Cows do NOT get up this early. Sheep.. why.. I bet they'd love a chance to sleep in! After all.. they spend ALL night counting sheep! It's kind of a no-brainer! But, CHICKENS. Those dang things.. they've been mankind's alarm clock since the beginning of time.
They are so annoying.. that their crowing is even mentioned in the bible. No wonder the Egyptians cherished cats! They eat chickens! lol. Why did we allow ONE animal to dictate the rest of us and our habits?? I mean.. did cavemen get up at the crack of dawn?? Did chickens civilize us? OR.. do chickens actually control us?? Who put the chickens in charge of telling us time?? Time to get up?? Time to go to bed?? Has anyone ever seen a dang chicken with an alarm clock?? What compels the dang things to get up so DANG early?? Eggs and bacon??
Answers that I'm sure someone has.. but.. in all honesty.. do we care?? Not really. We'd just like to sleep in. Yep, we relish our day to sleep in! Now, in all honesty.. aren't we all kind of silly to allow the bird to keep us on such a strict pattern?? Here in San Antonio.. they actually are allowing the high school kids to start later! Why?? Studies show kids do better LATER in the morning. They just are NOT early risers. No kidding.
And, yet.. mankind is getting up earlier and earlier. Why?? Because they want to?? Or is it to beat the traffic? Again.. a no-brainer. So, though.. I will be up with the chickens.. don't expect me to be happy about it! Baaaaaaaaawk! Baaaaaaaaawk!
