"Say Eight"

Last night I "cried uncle" and drove myself to the Walgreens Clinic because I was pretty sure I had a sinus infection. Not only did I have a sinus infection, but an ear infection as well!

One of the many questions the Nurse Practicioner asked me was to rate the pain on a scale of one to ten, ten being the worst.

I immediately thought of this clip from Brian Regan... and before I could stop myself, I said, "eight". I didn't get morphine, but I walked out with a heavy duty prescription for Amoxicillin!

So we both have started on the miserable side with Gym Challange. On the plus side, at least I don't have to feel so bad about not going last night or today. I am going to make real effort to tomorrow. I'll follow up with a post for sure.

I'm sorry you had to get antibiotics, but at least now you'll get well!

Oh, and Brain Regan is THE BEST! :)

You poor thing! Hopefully, the meds will help you feel better. I bet the ear infection was a real surprise. Don't be discouraged at your slow start to the gym challenge. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!

You get well soon!!!
Darn it, girl, don't you know that you have a family that needs you. How dare you get so sick? What were you thinking?
And the big question...why did you wait so long to get help?
You know... they give you drugs when your at a 4 or so. Next time, DON"T WAIT till you're an 8!
Hope your drugs work REALLY FAST !!!

Okay - anyone who's ever had Kaiser knows that you aren't getting Antibiotics until you've been sick more than 2 weeks or you're oozing in "green snot"... I no longer have Kaiser, but the same rule of thumb applies and I'm not going to pay (yeah, it costs me $$$ to see a doc now that I have no HMO) to go to a doctor for them to tell me, "it's just a bad head cold... drink lots of clear fluids and rest a lot!"

And I really wasn't an "8" in pain... I just didn't know what number to pick... how do you rate that anyway? Eight sounded dramatic enough and really the scale thing is so subjective anyway! :)

I am so sorry that you and your family have been so sick. I know that you are probably "sick" and tired of being sick. It was that way for Geoff and I last year about this time. It was horrible. I really don't think hat I have EVER been that sick before. Hope you guys get feeling better.
P.S. Brian Regan is coming to the TUACAN in St George this spring I believe. He is mine and Geoff's favorite, so we are going to try and go watch him. You guys up for a drive so you can go with us? It could be fun!!! The tickets are cheap too!
