Answer is: "Yes, and I'm ready to eat them"

What is: "Do you have Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies in your freezer?"

I received my box today, and I'm quite excited to eat some in just a few. I'm guessing that I'm not the only one who's supported a local trooper and will get to enjoy some cookies also. Happy eating!!!

Can't reality be like TiVo

You know that you rely on your DVR way too much when you try to rewind radio station to hear the full song that you just missed. Why do I know this, you might wonder. Well that is exactly what happened today on my drive home. Then I started thinking how nice it would be to be able to TiVo my life. Pause in the middle of a deep conversation to get a drink or use the bathroom. Fast forward through those awkward teenage moments or replay your favorite kiss. ;) ;) I know that we would not grow and learn as much about ourselves, but it's a fun thought to entertain.

Maybe that's why I like to scrapbook. I love creating my pages, I love playing with the products, I love shopping for the perfect paper, but what I'm really doing is making an expensive glorified picture diary. And that's OK with me. I enjoy looking back on pictures and reminiscing about that time. So even thought I can't rewind my life my scrapbook is the next best thing.

Seriously.....

One week later...

I'm still up past my bedtime. It's now approaching the fine hour of 2 in the morning. I'm really hoping next week calms down a bit. Meaning that I leave work before 11:45pm each night. In case you were wondering, that's where I've been each day this week and will continue to be for the rest of the weekend. At least Saturday it'll be cause I'm with friends cropping(scrapbooking).

I hope everybody had a great Valentine's day. Here's a few pics from Annual V-day bash at the Secrist.

Kale tossing a few bags. He's so adorable!!!

It's 1:23 in the morning, what am I doing up?

What?!? How did I lose track of the time. I mean I didn't get home till 11:30, but that was like 10 minutes ago, or so I thought. Yikes! I have so much to do tomorrow. I need to go to BED, but I can't seem to clear my mind. I keep thinking of tasks that I should have done today, but didn't get to for whatever reason and will be pushed to tomorrow's to do list.

Lately I just can't seem to stay caught up on anything. I knew this week was going to be busy, In a 13 day period, I've only had 1 day off. No wonder I'm behind. And yet more tasks keep on piling up, for instance, I'm teaching tomorrow from 6 to midnight, then back at work at 10am on Saturday for a double, and on my day off I need to start and finish 3 class projects for my next round of classes that I'll be teaching.

Now I'm off to get some sleep, Hopefully.

You call that a Christmas song??????

I can NOT believe that I found a Christmas song that I HATE more than the stupid "Christmas Shoe" song. But what I'm still trying to figure out is to WHY this song is considered a Christmas song? I've heard it multiple times on the holiday stations, so I know it wasn't a 1 time fluke. And the winner is..."Dear Mr. Jesus". I have not heard this song before, even though it was recorded in 1985. For those of you who do not know about this little gem, it's about child abuse. And that's related to Christmas how??? I guess because Jesus is in the title. Here are some of the lyrics....

Dear Mr. Jesus, I just had to write to you
Something really scared me, when I saw it on the news
A story 'bout a little girl beaten black and blue
Jesus, thought I'd take this right to you

Dear Mr. Jesus, I don't understand
Why they took her mom and dad away
I know that they don't mean to hit with wild and angry hands...

Please don't let them hurt your children
We need love and shelter from the storm
Please don't let them hurt your children
Won't you keep us safe and warm...

Dear Mr. Jesus, please tell me what to do
And please don't tell my daddy
But my mommy hits me, too.

And YES it is sung by a 9 year old. ARRGGGGG! 'Oh how I dislike children singing. I.E. Billy Gilman. I understand that this song has a place, but on the radio right after "Rudolph..." and before "Jingle Bell Rock", I don't think so. And my favorite part is at the end when a grown man sings back up to the chorus, quite passionately I might add. I think he was channeling Bruce Springsteen's part in "We Are The World". If you are interested in hearing this "Christmas" song you can find it on you tube. But I wouldn't actually watch the videos, just listen to the song.

P.S. I would love to hear your opinions, so feel free to comment.

New Moon

In the past I've been in the closet about my "Twilight Love". I have no problem saying that I loved the books, but the first movie was so cheeeesy, I couldn't admit to most folks that I enjoyed it. BUT New Moon was Great!!! I went to the midnight showing with a bunch of my co-workers and customers form the store. I've become pretty close to some of my customers, so much so that we hang out on the weekends. :)
Here are a few pics from the evening.

Me and Jake, I mean Taylor eating at Applebee's before the show.

Co-workers:Megan and Pat

Heather(Alice's sister) and Alice:Co-worker

P.S. In case you were wondering, my t-shirt says "Chief Swan can arrest me ANYTIME....bring on the handcuffs" :)

Subtle Sexuality

Kelly from "The Office" has created the most AWESOMEST girl group since...well...EVER!!! Properly named Subtle Sexuality, She and Erin have made quite possibly the greatest music video of 2009 if not the entire new millennium. Check it out below. But if that is not enough for you and you want more Kelly and Erin go to their band website at http://www.subtlesexuality.com/main.shtml

Hello, Is it me you're looking for?

So, I guess I'm going to give this blog thing another chance.

How about a quick update...

I moved back home with my mom.
I quit the salon and work just at the scrapbook store. I also started teaching classes there.
My best friend got married.
I went to Disneyland last month.
My car broke down on the freeway and is currently in the shop. I apparently need a new motor, not sure yet what I'm going to do. So if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Other than that, I have had some issues in my life and I'm just working through them. I want to thank those who have prayed for me and have kept me in your thoughts. I hope to be back to myself and be in your lifes again soon. :)

9-11

Wow, I can't believe it's actually been 7 years today. I know that it'll be one of the few days in my life that I'll remember all the details filled with emotion, pain and confusion. It was my senior year in high school, after walking into my first class, immediately I knew something was wrong. The whole day was filled with tears, friends trying to find out if their family was affected, the unknown and then realizing that forever America had been changed. Even in all this sadness, I remember praying to God and being reminded that HE is in complete control. And I still don't know the reason why, But I do believe that God can bring light into this tragedy. Today my prayer is for the family that lost someone and for all those who risked their life for another.

Many of you know that I have a slight infatuation with The Office. Who am I kidding, I'm obsessed with it. By no means am I proud to admit this. But I'm not doing anybody a favor by lying. Anyways, I have PATIENTLY waited for NBC to release season 4. So after some price checking I ordered it on Amazon last week(Bonus: I didn't have to pay for shipping),but I would have to wait a week. Finally after countless trips to amazon tracking my package, IT CAME yesterday!!! WOOHOO!!! The man in brown delivered. Since I had already made plans with my momma last night, I was only able to watch "The Fun Run" (including the deleted scenes) before I went to bed. It was MAGNIFICENT!! Then as I was lying in bed figuring out when I could watch more, I realized that not only do I have to work a double shift on Thursday, I have to today also. Which means I won't get home till 9:30-10:00. Bummer!!! Looks like I'll for-go a couple of hours of sleep for my love...Jim Halpert. By chance if any of you can't get a hold of me in the next few days know that if I'm not at work, I'll be on my couch watching my FAVORITE show. Please don't be worried, I'll come back to reality soon.
