Pies!

So I decided this year I needed to contribute more for thanksgiving because my sisters and mom always do all the cooking. Some of you may know I am the youngest and therefore only usually trusted with bringing paper plates or soda to any event. So, when I asked my sister if I could make some pies and do the mashed potatos she responded, ".........are you sure?" hehe. Well I did it! I have made the pies today. They are not that pretty but I think they will taste good. And look at how dirty my shirt is in the last picture. I'm not used to baking. David even started licking chocolate off my shirt before I saw what he was doing.

I Can Run!

So for a little over a week I have been going to the treadmill at night and walking a mile. I went every weekday last week and then I had a little lull over the weekend. But still, the first day I had to walk the whole thing, first briskly and then at a lazy pace. Horrible. But the next day I could jog half a lap, the next day a whole lap.....now tonight I didn't just jog 3/4 a mile, I ran-sprinted! I have never been able to run that long in my life. It felt great. Tomorrow I am going to try the whole thing.

Desperate Days Without a Car

So a few months ago Tyler and I sold our extra car to save some money. At first I was taking Tyler to his carpool spot every day and then I had the car. Well, he stopped carpooling so now I take him to work on the days I need the car for something. Now I am home without a car most days, always trying to think of something to do to get out of the house. On days we are lucky enough to have a friend want to go somewhere with us, I usually have forgotten to get the carseat out of our car. We have worn a trail on the walk up to southern to subway, bashas, safeway, name brand exchange and del taco. So, today we walked south across the freeway to Barnes and Noble to just get out of the house. We ate some food at Costa Vida and brought something home for daddy. David mainly enjoys our walks not for the destination but because we walk on busy streets and he gets to see all the car cars! He has to show me every car, truck, mo mo, or bus by yelling "see the ---!"
His new favorite movie is Lady and the Tramp because of all the PUPPIES!

Mike and Jasmine Visit

We were so lucky to have our good friends the Spears come visit us from Tucson. Their daughter Alissa is almost exactly a year younger than David. We went to dinner and hung out and had a lot of fun.
Here are David and Lissy on their first date. A movie. "Hi Angie!"

Ward Halloween Party

Tyler volunteered for the dunk tank at our party so we had an extra fun time. It was crazy that usually the only people who could dunk him were the little kids. We met up with our friends and David got to see his buddies: Landon, Jamin, and Jackson. It was combined with 2 other wards so it was huge. There was a live band there, the whole street blocked off, so much food, and more games than I thought possible. David really liked the ducky game. All he had to do was reach in and pick up a floating duck and whatever number was on the bottom of it was how many pieces of candy you got. He was good at it.

David Words at almost 2 - revised

This may not be interesting to anyone but I am using the blog to document out lives. Then I am going to have it made into a real binded book that this site offers that my sister Leslie found out about. So here are new words (or old) that David can say.
  • mamom - grandma
  • papa - grandpa
  • momo - motorcycle
  • hey
  • wait
  • work (as in "Daddy work?" Is Daddy at work?)
  • birt-day cake - birthday cake
  • bike-tickle - bicyle
  • by-a-nin - fire truck
  • bubbles
  • bear
  • zock - socks
  • where'da ----- go? (insert any of his words, ex: "where'da momo go?")
  • where'd he go?
  • walk
  • outside
  • I wanna go
  • ---- I want it (insert any of his words, ex: "mulk, I want it.")
  • mulk - milk
  • water - means water and bath
  • Lelo - Leland
  • Brynin - Bryan
  • Lalee - Ashley
  • Deedee - Kenadee
  • Mohney - Train and Airplane
  • copter - helicopter
  • bidder - bob the builder
  • bouly - fish

He is very obsessed with mohneys right now, meaning trains. Everything about trains is his favorite thing to look at or watch. We are getting him thomas the train stuff for his birthday.
