I want to do it myself
Christine is now quite adamant that she pick out her clothes (usually something purple) and she prefers to put the clothes on herself. She doesn't like mom and dad to help.
This is what a typical Christine outfit looks like. Pajamas still on. Green bloomers. Blue dress, inside out. Yep, definitely ready to go out on the town!

Buckles
Christine has a new favorite activity: playing with buckles.
She takes her stuffed animals and buckles them into her high chair. Usually she asks "Mommy Mommy Buckle Buckle! pleeeeease" and I come over unbuckle Doodle Bear or Tangie bear from the high chair and she rebuckles the straps and this keeps repeating until Mommy gets tired of unbuckling.
Occasionally if Mommy is still cleaning up from lunch the animals get fed snacks, like this unnamed bear who got fed yogurt.
This activity is not limited to her high chair. Anything with buckles will suffice. I babysit our friends' little girl Claire during the week, and every time an animal or baby doll gets strapped in to Claire's car seat. I still laugh every time I unexpectedly find a stuffed friend in the car seat all buckled up and ready to go!

The Rodeo
Every spring the Houston Livestock and Rodeo show comes to town. We have gone every year we have lived in Houston. Each trip has been quite unique as our lives keep changing. The first year, I was pregnant and ate two of everything in sight. The second year we went to the evening rodeo show and the Brad Paisley concert. It was the first time Jeff and I went on a date since Christine was born. (Note to self: next time you have a baby DO NOT wait so long to ask for someone to babysit!) Then this year, we skipped the evening rodeo show and concert and went to the day events.
Honestly, the day events aren't as cool as the evening shows, but we still had a good time. Christine loved seeing all the animals. The baby chicks were her favorite. I thought she would be excited to see the cows, but she was pretty scared of them. They were very big cows.
We enjoyed some funnel cake and ice cream cones (not nearly as good as when I was pregnant. The rodeo food was crazy good when we went the first time. I am sure they were probably the exact same. Pregnancy cravings are soooooo weird)
Our favorite activity was an agricultural scavenger hunt for the little kids. You went through a maze of hale bales and went to stations to collect farm things to put in your basket. We got to feed plastic chickens, collect eggs, plant a seed for a red pepper, then pick the grown plastic pepper, pluck a peach from a tree, and more. Then with all the collected items we got to "sell" all of it at the farmer's market and then buy something from the little store. Christine picked a Capri Sun.
Christine's favorite part was playing in the sandbox of corn feed.
Do you like her dress? I made it :) I chopped up an old sweater of mine that never fit right. I used this tutorial but instead of making a casing for the neck, I used some ribbing. My first knit fabric project!

For Grandma
This post is just for you mom. I thought you would like to see how cute Christine looks in her little night gown.
A walk to the park
One thing I love about the spring in Texas is the azaleas in bloom. It only last for a few weeks, but they are gorgeous! Jeff took some time away from working on his Ethics paper to go on a walk with us around the neighborhood to see the azaleas. (This walk took place March 13th in case you were wondering where I am at on my blog catch-up)
(do you like my new door mat? and look! my gerbera daisies are still alive!)
We stopped and played at a park we passed on our walk. Christine loves going to the park. Her favorite is going down the slides.
after our walk we had some ice cream cones. Christine is a big fan of ice cream! we actually didn't give Christine one, but she charmed daddy into giving her his. Daddy is quite the sucker for those sweet eyes, especially when she says "please" so sweetly.

Peanut Butter M&Ms
This little monkey has learned how to pull out the chair and climb onto the chair and from there onto the table. I caught her in the act of eating peanut butter M and Ms from my Valentine's themed display jar. This is what happens when I try to do things like pay the bills while Christine is awake.
" em en em" is now part of her vocabulary and the Easter Bunny definitely brought her some in her basket.
Now how did Christine know there were treats in a jar on the kitchen table? Mommy never ever sneaks them during the day!
