I just have to say that I managed to snag a REALLY fantastic guy. He not only does things everyday to help out, and make my life easier but yesterday he did two things that really caught my attention and reminded me that I am blessed to have him. :)
1. I HATE doing dishes. HATE, HATE, HATE! I know its supposed to be easy if you just stay caught up etc...but I don't. We don't have a dishwasher so I have 2...attached to my body and they are sometimes hard to get working ;)
Yesterday had been a little bit rough. I just want feeling up to par completely and was a little stressed. At about 9pm I left to go take care of a few thing and had the dishes at the FRONT of my mind. I knew they had to be done, I was tired, and had no motivation...as I walked up the stairs to our front door I decided I would do them first thing in the morning. I unlocked the door, opened it and what did I find? Nick standing at the sink with the towel thrown over his shoulder finishing up the last few dirty dishes. :) Now, while the act of doing the dishes was something that I REALLY appreciated it wasnt that, it was what he said after that made me realize how blessed I was. He said "I knew you were already frustrated, I didn't want you to come home to a stressful situation with the kitchen being messy." How thoughtful is he?! It made my night, and honestly has made my day a lot better today too...because like I said... I HATE doing the dishes :)
2- These pictures show it.. He is the perfect Dad.
Often times when Kinley is hurt, crying, tired, sick Kinley just wants daddy. She loves that man. Yesterday Kinley woke up from her nap after just 30 minutes or so of being asleep. She was definitely not ready to be awake. I went in after I heard her crying and tried to calm her down and put her back to sleep. She was inconsolable though. After a few moment of trying Nick came in and tried. She continued crying. After trying for a few more minutes I sat up on the edge of the bed and heard Nick in a soft quiet voice start saying "Once upon a time..." She just stopped crying and looked directly into his eyes and listened intently as he told her a little story about her little pink teddy bear that she sleeps with, and calls "Teddy". She continued to look into his eyes as they slowly shut. After she fell asleep he laid there for a few minutes more tickling her back just to make sure she was asleep before he left. It was such a sweet moment to watch.
I am so glad that I have a husband who tries to thinks of me, his daughters, and just about everyone else before himself. He always pulls through when its hard, and he manages to do a fantastic job at being there just at the perfect time, and when you need him most.
