Mud

A couple weeks ago my friend and I swapped kids while we worked for Little Adventures road show selling flip slips at Costco. My family is good friends with the owner of the company and they needed help while they were in Vegas. I was super motivated to work the 10+ hour days so I can buy my dream blender.
Anyway, I digress, so while I was watching the girls one day they decided to go play in the backyard. I must not have been paying very close attention because soon there was tons of mud and some very happy girls. So we stripped off the clothes and I just let them at it.
I love how the mud is so dark on my girls white white skin and then you can't even see it on Alice and Reagan.

And this inspired me getting the sandbox. I decided dry sand is easier to clean up than mud. At least they had fun.

Fall TV

I love Fall. It is the season I miss the most while I live here in Hot Vegas. I love the changing leaves and the crispness in the air that makes you want to make a delicious soup and cozy up with a cup of hot chocolate. I love Halloween and pumpkin goodies.

And I also love Fall TV. This I get to enjoy just as much as those who live where the leaves change. I love getting my old favs back and trying out new shows too. It is like seeing friends that I haven't seen all summer. So without further ado, here is what I am looking forward to this Fall.

Monday
House - FOX, Mon, Sep 20 8:00 PM. I love this show. I loved the finale and can't wait to see what happens with House and Cuddy.
Chuck - NBC, Mon, Sep 20 8:00 PM. I almost dropped this show last year with all the cheesiness, but I am not ready yet. Chuck is just cute and Morgan cracks me up.
Mike & Molly - CBS, Mon, Sep 20 9:30 PM. New sitcom that I don't know much about but Sooki from Gilmore Girls is in it so I gotta check it out.

Tuesday
Glee - FOX, Tue, Sep 21 8:00 PM. Need I say more? Seriously, love this show.
Raising Hope - FOX, Tue, Sep 21 9:00 PM. I am not sure about this one but it looks like just enough WT to be pretty funny.
Running Wilde - FOX, Tue, Sep 21 9:30 PM. Of course I am going to watch two of my favorites - GOB and Felicity. I can't wait.
Parenthood - NBC, Tue, Sep 14 10:00 PM. I really liked this show. It had just enough drama and comical moments, relatable characters and of course my girl Lorilei. And although Brian hates the lawyer sister with all the passion in his heart, he still watches with me so that is a bonus.

Wednesday
Undercovers - NBC, Wed, Sep 22 8:00 PM. Well, I have to watch something during the 8 o'clock hour. Hope this is a good one.
Modern Family - ABC, Wed, Sep 22 9:00 PM. Love this show. Can't wait to get back with Manny and Phil and all the rest of my favorites.
Cougar Town - ABC, Wed, Sep 22 9:30 PM. I know I shouldn't admit this one but I just laugh at this show. And Rachel is going to visit her BFF Monica in the Premiere (nevermind that in this show they have different names).
The Defenders - CBS, Wed, Sep 22 10:00PM. A show about Las Vegas attorneys. Of course I am going to watch it. And I like Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell.

Thursday
Community, 30 Rock, Office & Outsourced - NBC, Thu, Sep 23 8-10 PM. I am not sure about Outsourced but the rest are hilarious and make Thursday night a happy night.
Grey's Anatomy - ABC, Thu, Sep 23 9:00 PM. Another show I can't seem to drop. I gotta see what happens with Derek.

Sunday
Amazing Race - CBS, Sun Sep 26 8:00PM. Have you seen the clip of the watermelon catapult in the face? Seriously, this is good stuff. I always like to say I want to go on that show but Brian says I will just cry the whole time. He knows me so well.
Desperate Housewives - ABC, Sun, Sep 26 9:00 PM. I don't even remember if I watched the finale, but it is a show I can't just drop. What else am I going to do on a Sunday night? (That was rhetorical, please don't comment with a list of productive and spiritual things I could do).
Brothers & Sisters - ABC, Sun, Sep 26 10:01 PM. Thanks Hollie for getting me hooked.

WoW! That list is lengthy. Thank goodness for DVR allowing me to watch so much fabulous TV. So, what are you looking forward to watching this Fall?

Labor Day & Back to School

I guess I have to come to terms now that summer is over. Labor day passed so I better put away my white pants and skirts. I figure you can't celebrate Labor Day without a barbeque so we had a few friends over and grilled some burgers.

It was fun to chat with friends, eat and eat while our kids played and husbands watched football.

Our latest addition to the backyard is this little sandbox that I got from a garage sale for $2. Sage's constant digging up dirt and mud in the backyard was my first clue that a sandbox would be much appreciated. It was a hit as you can tell since the kids played how many kids can we fit in the sand box. I guess 6 was the limit because when I came over to take this picture Emery yelled "No, there isn't any more room" to the next approaching kid. She is so good to our guests.

Then it was back to school for Emery. I know you thought she graduated from preschool, but turns out she needs one more year.
She was so excited to go to her new school with her new teacher Ms. Chantelle. I am already super impressed and think this will be a wonderful year.
And we really lucked out that 2 of Emery's best friends are in class with her, Easton and Ella.
So, summer is over and fall is coming (or at least the slightly cooler months that mean fall in Las Vegas may be coming). It even rained today and it was fabulous. Happy Fall!

PS - I just have to record two Sage moments that also happened today. She is really trying harder to talk (even if she sometimes sounds like a deaf person talking, bless her heart). She was just playing by herself today and I listened in as she counted to 14 all by herself. It was so cute and I was impressed that she got that far on her own. Also, she said her first prayer today. She is always quick to fold her arms for prayers but until today refused to repeat or speak when we pray. Today she did with Brian. I need to get these on video because it is so dang cute.

Sleeping Kids

Every night when my hubbie and I finally turn off the TV and are ready to go upstairs to bed we make a stop to see our sleeping kids. No matter how irritated or impatient I may have felt with these little monsters during the day, I feel nothing but love and adoration when I see them innocently sleeping.

It is also super entertaining because you never know what you will find. Sage is usually in crazy positions with half her limbs sticking of the the crib. Emery usually has some strange array of dolls or animals tucked in beside her while she barely hangs on to the edge of the bed. Or she went through a long stage of having books everywhere around her.

So, the other night, we go up and see our sweet sleeping Sage.
And then go to find Emery.....missing.
We looked all over for her. Did she go in our room, under the bed, the guest room? Brian flipped on the lights in our messy playroom and walked on to check other rooms. Then came back to get a closer look.
Cousins were over earlier that night (moving to Las Vegas, woohoo now we have family in town) and they had built a fort that apparently Emery really wanted to sleep in. We were laughing pretty hard. I love that she has a Barbie shoe on her finger.

Then we had to move her because I didn't want to hear cries in the middle of the night when she got stuck in the chair and table. Good thing we check on these crazy sleeping kids each night.
