Hubby Stuff

Husband Tag

What is his name? Aaron

How long did you date? May ‘01-July ‘03

How long have you been married? Just over 5 years

Who eats more sweets? Definitely me

Who said I love you first? He did…and sent me a huge teddy bear to prove it

Who is taller? He is

Who is a better singer? He would say I am…but he sings some nice bass…just very quietly

Who is smarter? He would say I am…but he has a lot more life smarts while I have all the book smarts

Who does the laundry? He does more than I do…but neither of us are good at folding

Who pays the bills? He does…it would be catastrophic if I was in charge of all that stuff…he even has a 3 layer excel spreadsheet to keep track of it all

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? He sleeps on the side closest to the airvent in the summer to catch all the frigid A/C and I sleep on that side in the winter to snag all the heat :)

Who mows the lawn? He does…I would be hardpressed to get that task away from him…he loves mowing the lawn

Who cooks dinner? He definitely cooks way more often than I do…

Who drives? He does most of the time

Who is more stubborn? Ummm….probably me

Who kissed who first? He’d say I attacked him and kissed him…I don’t remember it quite like that

Who asked who out? We kind of had a consensual discussion…”so we’re dating now?”

Who is more sensitive? Definitely me…although sometimes I wonder if more gets under his skin than he lets on

Who wears the pants? He does…but he knows when to say yes so I stay happy.

A Limerick or two....

There once was an old lady named Sue
Who because of her height had poor view
She doubled her bike
And to her dislike
Saw the world from above was askew

The girl with a bee on her knife
Saw his distress at losing his life
She pondered a kiss
Could it bring bliss?
Most surely it'd only cause strife...

There once was a lady named Gracie
Who tired of carrying her baby
She hoped that a rather loud boom
Would scare it from her womb
While those watching just thought she was crazy

random facts

So it's been requested that I do the 7 random facts about me thing....I won't tag 7 people....but if you're an avid reader here and you feel the urge to do so.....go for it!

1. In high school I did poetry interpretation for public speaking tournaments. My winningest piece was a couple poems about some germans (humorous poems)....Hans Breitmann and "der noble Ritter Hugo Von Schwillensaufenstein"....I recited them with as authentic a german accent as I could muster. At one competition one of the other girls competing thought I was a german exchange student and was shocked to hear me speak normal english afterward. That was fun!

2. I can handle all manner of bodily fluids except sputum.....that's the one thing that gets me.

3. The only bone I've ever broken was my left little finger.....and I did it playing kickball. I was the pitcher.

4. When we went to Paris...we bought a week-long train pass and used the trains all week. We only went the wrong way on the trainline once. And our only car ride was in the mercedes back to the airport.....paid for by our hotel. The driver spoke french, spanish and portugese....no english. So I practiced my french with him. He was a very skilled driver in the chaos and small streets.

5. I have dipped my toes in the Atlantic Ocean in 2 different countries, the pacific ocean in one country, and the caribbean ocean in 3 different countries.

6. Aaron and I both have 2 brothers and 1 sister. We like the idea of 4 kids.....but so far we aren't brave enough to take the plunge to add to our one. Eventually.....I know we will.

7. People often thought my sister and I were twins growing up....despite the fact that she had blonde hair and I had brown....and I was always taller.....and we were 18 months apart. And if they didn't think we were twins they thought she was the older one. A lot of the time people still do....Maybe it won't be so bad when I'm 40 and she's 38 and they think I'm younger?

Playing in photoshop

So I took this cool...colorful....by mistake photo and fiddled with a bunch of different effects, settings, etc in Photoshop and created the following photocollage. Can I just say that I'm definitely LOVING having photoshop to play with!! Sorry the little squares aren't perfectly the same size/aligned....my eyes were starting to cross and I couldn't figure out a way to format them all to the same size.
