Getting Things Done!

"Kate's finally pulling her weight around here," Dave said when viewing this picture. Earlier this week, the whole family went out and pushed snow around. It was all good and fun. Then Kate slipped and decided she had better ways to spend her time, like watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, for example.

***In other news, we traveled back in time last night and hung out at Classic Skating. I know what you're thinking...does that place still exist? Oh, yes. It was Fox Hollow Elementary's family skate night. I thought, "What a great P.R. opportunity! Now I can show my principal and parents what a great teacher I am. Plus I could show off my slick skating moves." No wait, I don't think like that.

So we went. We got some stinky skates and skated the night away. All was going great (truly a CLASSIC evening) until Careless Kenny came along and torpedoed Dave and Kate. The night came to an abrupt ending; however, the nostalgic memories of birthdays and other yesteryear events at Classic are still running through my mind today:)

I'll Be Loyal!

Did you know that Webelos stands for "We'll Be Loyal Scouts"? Neither did I...that is...until I was trained by the Boy Scouts of America on Saturday. That's right...you're looking at the newest Webelos Den Leader!

So it was a 5 hour ordeal, taught by some of the BSA's finest! There I learned all the secret handshakes/signals, pledges, oaths, and what have you! I also racked up the credit card purchasing books, manuals, and a very sexy uniform for myself (I've always been a sucker for uniforms).
It was actually really hard to understand having never been a scout myself, nor ever having a child be a part of the scouting organization. I'm still all sorts of confused, but look forward to holding weekly den meetings at my place. It should make for some fun times, and some interesting upcoming blogs.

Sledding!

Dave was determined that he and I would finally go skiing during Christmas Break. Long story short, we didn't make it. He went to all the trouble to buy us new winter wear, so we took Kate for a sledding trip instead.

Sometimes it's hard not to just sqeeze her!

You might be asking yourself...does Ashley look sick? Oh, no...it's just me sporting my all-natural, non-makeup look! Don't be afraid.

Side note...check out the mountains behind us...this is right next to our house!

Kate was fearless! Can you see that little person just gliding down the hill all by herself? What other 1 1/2 year old do you know would do that?

Kate actually spent more time at the playground nearby.

MLK ZOO DAY

I'm sure Dr. King would want us to honor his memory by going to the zoo...

Red Panda picture for Uncle Mike in Thailand

I'm sure you'll be seeing more zoo pics since we bought the annual membership, we've got to get our money's worth!
