It's about time...

Today, I confronted one of my fears.

If you know me as well as you think you do... you know I will tell it how it is (Most of the time). There are certain situations when I try really hard to stay quiet. I worry that I will say to much, or that if I say nothing, I will explode. I do believe that I will one of these days...

I have been having A LOT of anxiety lately. I mean a lot. I have anxiety pretty much every day. I feel like I am broken because I don't think that it is normal to feel like this all the time. It can't be healthy. I have come to the conclusion that it is just part of my personality. I can't remember a time in my childhood where I wasn't worrying about something. I know sad huh!

I was tired of bottling everything up, so I went and told the person causing my troubles my concerns. I was scared to open up and be vulnerable. I was scared to hear what they had to say. Ha ha does that sound familiar? Worry worry worry...

Well I confronted my fears. Let me tell you, I am glad I did. I got some questions answered. I got some explanations that I needed. I got a mood boost. So all of you that I have been complaining to I am sorry. I appreciate the opportunity I had to vent, but I think I am going to make the best out of my situation and stay put. Life gets hard, and most of the time there is something in it that you dislike. I have come to realize that.

I have a new resolution for next year. DON'T BOTTLE THINGS UP! There is a tactful way of saying pretty much everything you need to say. I am going to be real... So look out!

I am going to make it, hopefully without a heart attack. I am going to try to stop worrying so much. It will be hard, I know it will, but I am going to give it a good shot.

Wish me luck!

P.S. This post was even kinda hard. It is hard for me to feel vulnerable and for some reason I do. And my adorable husband things I am a little bit strange to want to BLOG to the world about personal things. I can't explain it well, but it does help and feels good to get it all out. ::Deep Breath::

I love my husband. Isn't he handsome? These lights were so pretty!

All the people there were so nice. We had so many people offer to take our picture!

This was such a fun night. It helped really put me in the Christmas spirit.

People I love

Chad and Eryn at Trolley Square
The whole Fam Damily. Ignore my chubbyness.

Baby Eli (or Spider as we like to call him) I got to meet him for the first time recently. I love Dallas' lil bro!

Dallas and my mama! They love each other!

My little Dilly Dally!

Gingerbread...

Jody and I made a Gingerbread House this year. I made the gingerbread and cut it out and then we put it together! It turned out rather special... but it was fun anyways! Jody found these gummy penguins. I think that was his favorite part of the whole project. This is the front of the house

Over all it was a fun evening. Me and my hubby spending some quality time together. Thanks Jody for making it such a fun night!

Thanksgiving Shoot Out!

Chad and Eryn (his woman). They are such a cute couple. We sure love that girl!

Me and Chaddies girlfriend Eryn. She is such a sweetie.

My studly brother! I love him!

Can you even stand how big Emi is? She is a young woman!

Cute Ted, Jody and cousin Kenny.

Dad helping Emi shoot a gun for the first time.

There! Those are some pictures of our annual shoot out at Thanksgiving. It is a tradition for everyone to bring their cool old guns and new guns and we go shootin'!

Thankful Thoughts

I know it is not quite Thanksgiving, but knowing me as well as I do, I am pretty sure I will not be posting for a few days. I have many things that I am thankful for this year. Some big and some very simple. Here is my list... in no particular order...
I am sorry ahead of time for some of the mushieness you are about to read

1. My Job. Although many times I curse my job and complain about it, I am grateful that I have had no financial repercussion from this dreaded economy. Many people I love and admire have not been so lucky.

2. My Health. I am not the healthiest person in the world, but recently I have had some tests done and they all have come back ok. I am healthier than I thought I was. I am thankful for that...

3. My Husband. I am quite possibly married to the most perfect husband on the planet. :) Jody is the most wonderful man. He loves me, for who I am. He carries so much weight on his back for our family. Working over 40 hours a week and going to school 13 credits and Acing all of his classes, really helps me keep my mere 40 hours of work in check. He is the sweetest man I know.

4. The Priesthood. I am thankful to have a husband who holds and honors his priesthood. I did not grow up with the priesthood in my home, and I am so thankful that I married a man who holds it. I am thankful for the many blessings that Jody has given to me of comfort and healing.

5. My Family. Both immediate and in-laws. My parents are the most wonderful people. You can never feel out of place with them. My brother is a wonderful man and there was a point in time where we fought like crazy. I am sooo thankful that we have both grown to love each other and become great friends. I love my Chaddie! My in-laws are amazing people as well. They also accept me. The brothers and sisters in-law are just like my own brothers and sisters. In fact that is how I introduce them. Since we don't live very close to my family I am glad we live pretty close to Jody's family. It is so nice to have family near by.

6. My Grandparents. I have been blessed with wonderful grandparents. First, My grandma and Grandpa Robinson. They have each taught me so much. Grandpa tough me patients on the fishing boat. He tough me that the more teeth that I lost, the more boyfriends I had. He would always give us hugs when we left his house and say "come back and see us!" When he passed away, it was like loosing our leader. Grandma on the other hand. She tough me how to bake the perfect loaf of bread, to "tie a knot" with a weed, and would chase us around the house with a broom handle when we were naughty. She is the strongest person I have ever met. She is always there for baby blessings, baptisms, and weddings. Grandpa Yates. Although he passed away when I was very young I remember him quite well. I would sit on his lap and he would read me "But no Elephants," which was my favorite book. He would call me "Little Debbie" and always greet me with a "Low Low Lacey, Low Low." Don't ask me what that meant.

There is my top 6. Some other and maybe self explanatory things I am thankful for.

Running water
Toilets
Caffeine
Cell Phones
Hair Dye
KitKat's
Tooth Brushes/ Tooth Paste
Books
Glee
Health Insurance
Thanksgiving Dinner (Especially grandma's turkey noodles... mmm I cant wait...)

Enough of that...
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner and enjoy being with your families.

GOBBLE TIL YOU WOBBLE!!!

Scariest 5 Seconds of My Life

I was debating on whether or not to share this story, but what the heck right? It sure taught me a lot in those 5 seconds.

Please read the whole story before you freak out...

Tuesday night I was preparing for a not so fun medical procedure so my mom was over at my place for moral support. I was starving from only drinking liquid for 24 hours, grumpy from being hungry and pretty much facing my worst nightmare without getting into to many details.

My mom and I were hanging out on the couch watching "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past." In other words, she was sleeping on the couch and I was texting a couple of my pals. Jody's dear friend Daren calls my phone at about 8:40 pm. At first I thought it was odd that he was calling my phone since he usually calls Jody. I answer and Daren sounded a little strange. He asked if Jody was sitting by me. I said no and said he was at work until 9. Daren asked when the last time I talked to him was. (What? What is going on? That is what was going through my head) I stopped and finally said "Daren, What is going on!" He then tells me that There was a mass e-mail that was sent to everyone at Jody's work saying that "Jody Crockett had passed away."

WHAT!?!?

I called Jody at work immediately. While I was dialing, my mom woke up, saw me completely CRUMBLING into little sobs and hyperventilation. I kept just saying over and over, "no what will I do, no no what will I do." On the first ring, Jody answered his desk phone. I just completely lost it at that point. It took a good couple minutes before I finally composed myself enough to tell Jody what had happened. He chuckled (which made me sooo MAD!) and said "Babe I texted you ten minutes ago!" He then looked at his phone and noticed since it was set to silent mode, that he had about 10 missed calls from everyone he has listed in his phonebook. No one could get through, so this news had spread like wild fire.

Daren, the brave man, was the one who braved the storm to call the poor wife to see what was going on.

I called Jody at least 3 times just to make sure I was not imagining things.

There is nothing like getting a call saying your husband is gone. Jody is still very alive. There is nothing to worry about. I will say one thing, I appreciate him a lot more. I love his blue eyes, his scruffy beard, and his dishes in the sink. I cherish the fact that we are sealed together, so that IF anything were to ever happen to either of us, we will be able to live in eternity together forever. I just love Jody and EVERYTHING about him.

That was the SCARIEST 5 SECONDS OF MY LIFE!!!!

P.S. Jody still thinks it is a little funny that I would think that I would find out of his "passing" by a mass e-mail from his work.

P.S.S. I still tell Jody at least 5 times a day, that I am glad he is not dead.

Good Advice

I received this in an e-mail today and although I do not love forwards, this one was worth sharing. I have done a few of these before and it really is great advice...

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
TWO ... Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other.
THREE. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.
FOUR . When you say, 'I love you ,' mean it.
FIVE. When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye.
SIX ... Be engaged at least six months before you get married.
SEVEN... Believe in love at first sight.
EIGHT. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much. NINE .. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.
TEN. . In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.
ELEVEN. Don't judge people by their relatives.
TWELVE. Talk slowly but think quickly.
THIRTEEN. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?'
FOURTEEN. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk. FIFTEEN. Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze.
SIXTEEN. When you lose, don't lose the lesson !
SEVENTEEN. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.
EIGHTEEN...... Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship..
NINETEEN. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone... The caller will hear it in your voice.
TWENTY-ONE. Spend some time alone.

These are pictures from Dallas' 1st Birthday! She is pretty much the cutest little girl I know. I just love her and her mom and daddy. If you don't remember who she is, she lives next door to my mom and dad in Layton. They have become family. I took some pictures from her party. These were my favs!
Dallas and her mommy. Not quite sure what to think of the party hat. Her daddy stuck her hand in her cake and she DID NOT like getting dirty. Look at that face! This is Dallas waiting for a bite of her yummy cake!
"MMMM"

This is Corey feeding the cake to Dallas. She would only eat it off her spoon. She would not touch the cake herself. What a little lady!

Susi and Maternity Shots

Hello fellow readers (the few of you out there)! Here are some of the many pictures that I took of my cute friend Susi before she had little Haden. She is such a pretty mommy. Love ya Sus! Thanks for your patience! Sorry it took so long to get you your CD.

News/things to come

This post is coming a few days late. I got the flu and have been very sick since Monday. I am back at work today but my engines are only going at half steam. I will try to get pictures up of the things to come.

Well first item of discussion.

My mom and dad's best friend Krista was taken to the hospital on Friday with kidney failure. She was unconscious for a few days, and it was not looking good. Her kidneys were 100% shut down and she was on dialasis full time. Since then, she has started loosing water, and her kidney coloring is good and the doctor expects that they will start to come back slowly. She is awake, and a little loopy. Things are looking good. She is such a trooper.

Thank you everyone for the prayers. They were much appreciated! But she is not out of the woods yet so please keep them coming.

Things to come...

The Tea Party and Peaches

First of all... CoNgRaTs to James and Susi on the birth of their little man Haden. He is so stinking cute!

Saturday Jody and I got up entirely to early for a Saturday and went to my cousins house in Willard to pick up some peaches. My cousin Dalan's wife is the cutest ever. She e-mailed me about her family's orchard and how they were selling peaches! Of course I jumped at that chance. We went and got 2 bushels and then were on our way to Layton to pick up Chad and his friend Erin and head to Salt Lake for the Tea Party.

Well it didn't go without a hitch, but it was still fun!

My parents had a little tent set up and were selling T-shirts and CD's. We got there and were just in time for the Glenn Beck speech. The people from the American Liberties Tour, promised to play my dad's song at least 3 or 4 times and when did it come on? Oh right when it was over and people were packing up to leave. One awesome thing was that my dad and Chad were interviewed by the ALT and will probably be on TV.

It was so neat to hear the song over the loud speaker though!

P.S. I mentioned before that they were going to be playing live. However, 2 of the band people couldn't make it at the last minute so the song was just played over the speakers.

Dad and Chad.... I am sure proud of you guys and all of your hard work!

Pictures to come...

Dirty Work

Well friends, my fate has fallen upon me.

After working in many different professions, I have become more able to speak my mind. Not to a point that it will hurt me, but things roll off a lot easier than they used to.

At work, I am often asked to take care of people's "dirty work." In other words, I am asked to tell clients what others in the office are afraid to tell them. Usually people do not like to do this sort of thing. For me, it is more of a release of pent up anger. I pride myself on not being afraid to stick up for myself, my co workers and the company. It doesn't always go well, but that is where I am able to let things roll off my back.

I am still human, so once in a while, things will stick with me for a short time. I usually just get really mad, not sad. Anger is harder to deal with sometimes. If you are sad you can just have a good cry for a while. If you get really mad there are only so many orifices that steam and fire can come out before you just explode.

Today was one of those days where I was asked to politely tell a client off. YES!!! I can do that!!!

I am as tough as nails...........

And it went well.................

Holy OLD WOMAN!!!

My birthday was on Monday. We celebrated by my family coming up and going on a picnic to Willow Park. I had never been to that little zoo either so we went and looked at the little animals and fed some ducks. It was a really fun day! Jody made me a delicous cake (lemon with cream cheese frosting) and my mom, dad and Chad made the food for dinner. Although I am now a
QUARTER OF A CENTURY OLD....
I still had a fun birthday. No need for a walker yet!
Me with my yummy cakeAn eagle at the zoo. I have never seen one of these in real life it was really awesome!
This duck kept eating right out of my fingers. It was so cute! I was pretty amused by these!
