Fall fell, finally. Just in time for Christmas.

I have forgotten how the seasons work here. I do remember a few freezes last year but couldn't quite remember when they happened, or when the leaves changed and fell. Now's the time. The boys enjoyed trying to make a leaf rainbow with the leaves in our back yard. Not a bad showing.

Turned the fireplace on. The boys built a bed out of the couch cushions right next to the fire while I was in the bathroom. Can't turn your back on these guys!! Nice to snuggle when it is cold, though! Must enjoy it while it lasts.

Giving Thanks

Giving thanks for my new birthday piano. To my surprise, Matt plays it quite a bit, resurrecting the lessons he had long, long ago.

Giving thanks for our new dining table and side board.

Giving thanks for and with old friends. Emily (formerly Sister Owen) was my mission companion in Taiwan. She and her husband, Parker Valora moved to the Houston area  just as we were leaving for Korea. We were delighted that they were still here after our world tour to Korea, Idaho and then Calgary.

Giving thanks for the fall colors that are just now showing up at the end of November.

Giving thanks for these sweet and silly boys that made a bed next to the fire out of the couch cushions while I was in the bathroom.

November Happenings

My birthday happened... Birthday bagels!!

My friends Jessica Gregory and Holly Stewart made a delicious lunch for me.

Cookie bar cake!

Lincoln had a Thanksgiving Feast at Kindergarten. Don't those paper bag vests look great?? I know, I cut them all out (why do I volunteer for these things?).

End of the soccer season.

Lincoln and Bennett keep saying, "I can't believe that we won and got a trophy!!".

Oh, and this is a November highlight too:

Baby Adsero profile. Due at the end of May. Thirteen weeks along now.

Top of baby's head with hand by face.

Legs going up on either side. Maybe what's in the middle is just the umbilical cord. Too soon to tell.

Lake Somerville Round II

Prettiness on the way there.

If you recall, we went camping at Somerville Lake 2 weeks earlier, but this time was much better, because it was with friends. Mark Herbst and Matt did their thesis project together in school. Mark and Kyra got married just before Matt and I did, so we've known them our whole married life. Mark got a job with Exxon Mobil as well, so although we've all moved around a bit, Houston is home base, and we have fun getting together every now and again.

Our boys love their girls. Lincoln and Brielle got married while we were chatting around the campfire, and I saw Brielle sneak a kiss on Lincoln's cheek. So cute!! Eldon and Emery (sp?) are only a few days apart.

It was a bad sleep, but a great camp site, and great friends. Thanks for a great weekend, Mark and Kyra!!
