Welcome to Fitz
Fitzwilliam College is a modern, welcoming community committed to developing the talents of all its 750 undergraduate and postgraduate students. One of 31 Cambridge colleges, we were founded in 1869 specifically to broaden access to the University of Cambridge.

Building work at Fitz
This year, in the heart of the main College site, we are renovating staircases M–P and adding a new satellite extension to P staircase. The £13m project will upgrade the staircases to incorporate 80 ensuite rooms, 12 communal kitchens, and a reflection room. The facilities will be ready for the start of Michaelmas 2026. You can learn more about the project here.

North West Bursaries
Fitz was founded so that talented students could come to Cambridge whatever their financial background. We're especially keen to welcome more students from the North West of England, and we've created a bursary to help make that possible.
If you come from the North West and go on to study at Fitzwilliam, you may be eligible for a North West Student Bursary worth £4,500 per year. This includes support from the Cambridge Bursary Scheme (which is meansâtested) plus extra funding from Fitz to help with living costs. On top of the annual bursary, there is a oneâoff £350 grant to help you can take part fully in College life. Click here to learn more.
