CTRL-S also now allows multiple sort order lists, and '<' and '>' cycle through them from the directory.

Ok, so I monkied around with it some more, I took the other 2 default entries I had in the Sort box out and then I can see that if I keep hitting CTRL-S on an item it moves up 1 entry at a time.
That certainly works for me....

The position in the sort order list is important... orders closer to the top of that list take precedence, so you likely want to sort by Explicit Sort Order first. You can add it to the beginning by pressing insert at the top of the list.

Sorting is always enabled.

I'm a so sorry for not understanding... So I can do CTRL-S and add "Explicit Sort Order" that part I have figured out. But how to I enable that sorting? Nothing in my list seems to change after setting that?

From the listing, use CTRL-S and add "Explicit Sort Order" (the last item in the list) as a sort term.

I am totally missing something here so I apologize... But I can go to the CTRL-S menu and I can add Explicit sort order. But how do I get that sort order to do anything? I hit enter and it just toggles between reverse and normal, but nothing in my list gets sorted? What key do I press to actually do the sorting?

I've added the thing I described. :D

Use CTRL-S when editing an entry and you can enter a positive or negative integer there, and add "Explicit Sort Order" to your sort criteria.

This certainly isn't something that important. But i'm the type of person that like to organize. Several times while adding a new BBS entry in the list it went above or below where I thought it was going to go, so now the list is out of order for my liking. And your comment about them having no inherent order seems to make sense. But if what to order them the way I want them ordered I can't do that. If I have a list of 10 BBSs but I want BBS #8 to be at the top of the list I have no way of moving it from spot 8 in the list to spot 1.

So basically a new editable field that is only used for sorting? Would that match your expectations?

Essentially, a place you could enter an arbitrary number, and that number would be available as a sort key.

The entries don't really have any meaningful inherent order, so the only way to have an order is to sort the list once it's assembled. I'm a bit confused about the concept of "moving" an entry.
