Aquileo | did a svn checkout of the code but the sodipodi folder is empty

I did svn checkout https://svn.code.sf.net/p/sodipodi/code/trunk sodipodi-code
and after a hickup from the server timing out and a retry the checkout stated it completed.
Looking in the code folder I found the sodipodi folder but its empty.
How is sodipodi.exe built?

trying to run sodipodi on w10 and get message about entry point not found
The full message is
The procedure entry point g_module_open_utf8 could not be located in the Dynamic link library GTK2-Runtime\bin\libpango-1.0-0.dll
Anyone help me with this?

Ok. I sorted the dll problem by copy/pasting the zlib.dll renaming it as zlib-1.dll

Following reinstall after failing because I had not got GTK installed gave me this error.
Attempted repair failed due to lack of file in my user area temp folder.
Uninstalled/reinstalled and the error is persistent.
Is there something else I should have installed?

Hy!

While trying to install sodipodi on XP Family, having GIMP running perfectly, with GTK 2.9.?, the installation prog does npt recognize GTK and dont work.
Is it possible to look for the directory where GTK is installed?

Aquileo | Fedora 8 - Seg faults on "TEXT"

While Sodipodi works well on Fedora 7; on my Dell 820 running Fedora 8, any "TEXT" SVG content crashes Sodipodi immediately!

Open an SVG file with a text attribute and content:

This will crash Sodipodi, but <text></text> will not without the content. Only under Fedora 8!

both 2.6.23.1-42.fc8 & 2.6.23.8-63.fc8

Alternatively, open a new empty file with Sodipodi and use the text tool to add text. It crashes upon entering the very first character.

Notify me of corrections to this error and the like at "jillyburton@*gmail.com" (Without the asterisk and the quotes).

The bug:

-I typed some vertical kana in Inkscape (Windows XP) and saved it as .SVG to my USB drive.
--For the record, I typed "かこう" (kakou in hiragana).
-I ported the USB over to my (ancient) Windows ME computer which has Sodipodi on it (I'm sorry, but it just brings up a logo when I check the About dialog, no information)
--Upon opening the file, it didn't say "かこう", it said "ÿÿÿ" (three umlauted y's), and the text didn't register as an element, could not be selected either.

For the record, I typed "かこう" in the Arial Unicode MS font, and Windows ME didn't have the font. Might my results have been better if I had selected a Japanese font which my other system actually HAD? I know, I feel a little stupid posting this, but Sodipodi's not recognizing the Japanese as a text field was a definite bug.

I'm unable to test whether the proper Japanese fonts will work right now, as Inkscape doesn't run on Windows ME.

I upgraded to GLib 2.9.6 (and recompiled GTK+,
ATK, cairo, Pango to remove any problems), but
on startup, sodipodi does this:

***MEMORY-ERROR***: sodipodi[2881]: GSlice: failed to allocate 504 bytes (alignment: 512): Invalid argument

then exits. The GUI never opens. I recompiled
sodipodi, with the same results. GSlice is in GLib.
Strangely, there are no references to GSlice or
g_slice in the sodipodi source code.
