In the AVSynth section could you include a tool that asks what Aspect Ratio you want and allow you to specify Height or Width and calculate the other.
For example: If I want to encode some SNES video from an emulator, the video is 256x224, but it needs to be 4:3. And it gets resized to 720x480, but when you play the DVD it will be 4:3. Which is fine, normally because I can just let it resize to 720x480 and it shows as 4:3. But if I want the height to be an even 448, I have to "AddBorders" by 16 on the top and bottom. Then I have to find out the X axis if the Y axis is 448 and the Aspect Ratio is 4:3. Which is about 598, but it's gonna be resized to 720x480 for authoring, so I have to take the ratio between 640 and 720, which is 1.125. Then I multiply 598 by 598 and get 672. So then I subtract 672 from 720 and get 48, which means I have to take 16 off the top and bottom and 24 from each side to make the "actual" video 672x448 when the video(with border) is resized to 720x480 for authoring. Now, when that get's played the 720 becomes. effective, 640 and the 672 becomes 598. And all is right with the world.

Now imagine doing that each time you used a different video source using a different standard or aspect ratio.
The GUI could prompt for...
1) Aspect Ratio you will be watching it at (16:9 or 4:3)
2) The aspect ratio the actual video(without the border) needs to be
3) Whether Height or Width will be specified
4) Specify the value
And the program could calculate and automatically add the proper borders to achieve proper results.
Maybe have an option to force it to round to even numbers in all stages of calculations. For example, 598*1.125 is actually 672.75, which should be rounded to 673, but with the setting it would be rounded to the closest even number.

Could you please allow the user to use specific image files for the menu thumbnails, instead of reading frames from the video file.

Please add the option to set the output video format to the input format. So a PAL input generates a PAL video, and NTSC generates NTSC, without having to specify manually.

Aquileo | Delete Output Folder after burning DVD

Hi,

I have a very simple request. Could you please add an option to delete the created DVD Folder structure when using the "Burn DVD" Option as output?, mabe an option would also be to add this option to the "post process" menu, although I don't know if the contents of the post process menu can change based on output method.

Aquileo | double bytes characters not supported

steps to reproduce the problem:
1) add a mpg file
2) open dvd menu wizard, run editor
3) edit title label #1, input Simplified Chinese characters
4) click preview, garbage characters are displayed

My windows have the Chinese fonts , but it isn't in the font list when editing title label.

Aquileo | Support Chapters Import from Text File

Extending upon the recent improvements to chapter editing, it would be nice to be able to import chapters from a text file (which has been formatted in OGG Chapters format, for instance).

DVD Decrypter supports extracting chapters into the following formats, it would be nice if AVStoDVD supported one or several of them:
Chapter Information - BS Player, CCE, DVDLab, DVDMaestro, IfoEdit, LBA, OGG, Scenarist

I have seen OGG chapters recommended in guides on Doom9 and in the MeGUI tool. They are formatted quite simply. I have attached an example.

Due to GPL terms, you can't distribute freeware (closed-source) softwares togheter with a GPLd app (check out this interesting 3ad: http://club.cdfreaks.com/f59/freeware-iso-editor-56065/).

So i strongly suggest you to switch from ImgBurn to an open source compatible burning tool:

Hi, greets,
I guess would be handy an option to manual select the encoder either HC or QuEnc.
Even more if you add support for more encoders e.g. AutoQMatEnc would be nice.
