Findings so far:

1) set up a temp folder and copied APKs a few at a time. With 13 APKs in the folder only 9 appeared when scanned. Some had non "a-z0-9_." ascii characters such as ()% but most were routine names. An apk with "&()" and spaces in the filename scanned correctly. Changing filename of non-scanning apks (eg to "qwerty.apk") didn't make them become scanned. Still testing this to see if I can find a cause.

2) Also, update-scans "hang" part way. Still testing if this is due to specific files or folder contents or reproducible. This seemed to relate to re-scan... clicking "Scan APK Directory" wouldn't complete and "hung up" (although could be cancelled normally) but on restarting the app, the initial scan would complete. Consistent.

Aquileo | #4 Suddenly exists while processing about 20th of 100 apps in APK folder2014-03-26T18:09:28.641000Z2014-03-26T18:09:28.641000ZGeorge Nasioshttps://sourceforge.net/u/noctrex/https://sourceforge.net1feb7b633b81410d334854330ab1a2a5bbb47299

Are there any special characters in the file names of the files to be scanned?

Aquileo | #4 Suddenly exists while processing about 20th of 100 apps in APK folder2014-03-26T17:27:59.566000Z2014-03-26T17:27:59.566000ZStilezhttps://sourceforge.net/u/stilez/https://sourceforge.net70c7c1221d5f3f147f2d19c65aa052a5e2208cae

"processing" meaning, initial scan.

Aquileo | Suddenly exists while processing about 20th of 100 apps in APK folder2014-03-26T17:27:31.462000Z2014-03-26T17:27:31.462000ZStilezhttps://sourceforge.net/u/stilez/https://sourceforge.net68554b0764c78923a681a0121513336511addb0a

No log, hard to know what to send.

At a pinch can zip and send entire folder to test out if not reproducible?

Win 8 x64

Aquileo | #3 aapt.exe locator dialog immediately closes after opening, and program terminates (Win 8?)2014-03-26T17:19:32.444000Z2014-03-26T17:19:32.444000ZStilezhttps://sourceforge.net/u/stilez/https://sourceforge.net32265367364ae438a16f5dc77748e7f4f248c505

Confirming that workaround worked for me - thanks!

Aquileo | #3 aapt.exe locator dialog immediately closes after opening, and program terminates (Win 8?)2014-03-24T08:44:12.755000Z2014-03-24T08:44:12.755000ZGeorge Nasioshttps://sourceforge.net/u/noctrex/https://sourceforge.net52a13bf3b46b89e787a497194a5764ee25e34ae0

I can verify that this problem exists on Win8, I'll try to come up with an update over the next days.
