I changed the release command to include it for the next release (none planned for now though).
But the source code is mostly included for when people pass along the zip files, which btw. already include Linux binaries.
If you want to compile from source I'd suggest to just checkout out the repository:
https://sourceforge.net/p/xwahacker/code/ci/master/tree/
Which then also includes a Makefile and the GUI code.
