Hope this helps. I have not had SuSE since I stopped paying for it 15-20 years ago!

Now that's what I call progress. Back in 2015, it was looking bleak. If it's actually in RPM via Yum repos now, I'm impressed. I'll have to test this out now.

(yep, just installed it, I'm very impressed)

Thanks for the pointer!

Aquileo | #77 winexe failure with any samba newer than v4.12020-11-29T02:29:43.898000Z2020-11-29T02:29:43.898000ZHenrique Martinshttps://sourceforge.net/u/mv2007/https://sourceforge.netf74e3dfe1e36d436247955ed1d01b575e673fb8a

I was able to build winexe for some Fedora 3x, maybe late 2x., still have that binary somewhere.
I'm back on this - situation is different, but I again need winexe. I have fedora 32 on backuppc server.

My command line is also: ( ./waf --samba-dir=../samba configure build ) 2>&1 | tee ../waf-with-python2.7.log

(This machine has python 3 as default. I got other errors trying to run 'waf' so flipped the symlink to python 2.7, and got the errors in the attached file below ("err: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lsmb_static").

There are instructions in that BUILD file for Debian - anyone solved Fedora? @tlathm brought up issues like this in 2017, but never resolved them - or didn't document them (s/he posted later, in 2018, on other unrelated topics/issues).

I've attached the full python2.7 log - any ideas? I don't know anything about python, but I'm going to have to look at this myself again. Help would be appreciated.

Aquileo | #87 Updated RPMs for EL6,EL7,EL82020-08-15T04:44:37.748000Z2020-08-15T04:44:37.748000ZSteve Shoecrafthttps://sourceforge.net/u/sshoecraft/https://sourceforge.netc5aa263facb4c22076d03765eedad32ebd385cce

Here's the source i use

Aquileo | #87 Updated RPMs for EL6,EL7,EL82020-08-14T23:50:41.139000Z2020-08-14T23:50:41.139000ZJohn L Mageehttps://sourceforge.net/u/jlmsprings/https://sourceforge.netdc3bf99f48b4a173b2edbe8523eb2cde619780fa

@Steve Is there a chance we could get the source rpms?

Aquileo | #87 Updated RPMs for EL6,EL7,EL82020-08-13T16:33:29.121000Z2020-08-13T16:33:29.121000ZSteve Shoecrafthttps://sourceforge.net/u/sshoecraft/https://sourceforge.net3c5b5e97959bcd807530c7b64114d4d067fa7557

Here are the rpms
