I tested OOOLaTeX for the new version of LibreOffice, finding an error. Looking at the script, the error lies in the function DocInfo, in the OOOLaTeXTools module.

The line problem, which prevents the execution of the program is as follows:

oDocInfo StarDesktop.CurrentComponent.getDocumentInfo = ()

I commented this line, putting in place the following code:

oDocInfo ThisComponent.getDocumentProperties = ()

If you get an "error during the processing of dvips" when pressing "Latex" on lucid Ubuntu, it might be due to a problem with dvips.
I checked by trying dvips on the console and got an error of the form "dvips: free(): invalid pointer: 0x..."

I was able to solve the problem by adding the following line at the beginning of the OOoLatex.sh file (found under ~/.openoffice.org/3/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/1WBAJI_/OOoLatex-4.0.0-beta-2-linux.oxt):

export MALLOC_CHECK_=1

When I use subscript in expand mode, I save the file and open it again, the content in subscript position goes bask to normal type. But subscript in expand works well. The OOolatex I use is OOoLatex-4.0.0-beta-2-linux.oxt.

Hi,

in a shared installation the directory
/var/spool/openoffice/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/UKmep6_/OOoLatex-4.0.0-beta-2-linux.oxt
is only root-writable, and "Save" the "Conifg" dialog can't write OOoLatex.sh in that location,
throwing an exception.

OOoLatex should handle this more gracefully, and e.g. mention the permission problem
and directory in an error message window.

When using OOoLatex to edit an equation created by copying and pasting another equation created with OOoLatex, it crashes NeoOffice consistently.

The following applies to OOoLatex on Windows with MikTex2.7 and Cygwin

1) Upon Installation one should be informed that a virtual shell needs to be installed (also the notion 'MinSys' should be explained)
2) The function 'WinPath' prepends a '/C/' in front of the path which is not correct in the above configuration and needs to be replaced with '/cygdrive/c/'
3) It is confusing that the script demands the Windows versions of Latex and Ghostview to be installed during setup, but actually relies on the respective programs to be available in the virutal shell, being called from OOoLatex.sh. The latter script is written by function 'WriteScript' which erroneously calls gswin32c.exe, which is not executable in the virtual shell. Instead, it should write calls to 'gs' independently of the actual operating system.

I hope that this was useful; thanks for maintaining this great tool OOoLatex!

Hi,
on Vista Ultimate 64 bit openoffice 3.1, OOoLatex beta 2, ghostscript 8.63, msys 1.01 and Miktex 2.7, enter 'E=1' in expand latex window results in a crash
of OOoLatex. Error window(a) :BASIC-Laufzeitfehler,Datei nicht gefunden. A second error window shows a debug-editor window at section
[Meine Makros & Dialoge].OOlatex. In function MakeEquation(IEqSize=12,sEqType=inline,sCode=E=1) the highlight code row:
Shell(sShellCommand, 4, sShellArg, true) is marked.

Any hints?

I use Ubuntu Hardy amd64 and the default (metacity?) for graphics. After installing ooolatex, I tried to open the configuration window, but it was too small and was not resizeable. After turning off graphical effects (in preferences-> appearance -> visual effects), it worked fine. Ocuured in OpenOffice 2.4.1:

1.Create new document
2.Launch equation
3.Type anything
4.press «LaTeX»

"BASIC runtime error. File not found" error message pops up

I have installed OooLatex 4.0.0 — beta 2 for Windows, Msys 1.0.10, GhostScript 5.50 and fonts archieved in OooLatexFonts.zip.
