DDS Touchstone is designed to be used with any DDS compliant product. Currently, only OpenSplice DDS support is implemented. It would be usefull to include other implementations as well, giving users the opportunity to benchmark different implementations simultaneously.

Aquileo | Centralized mechanism for stopping touchstone applications

Currently, the touchstone applications have no elegant mechanism to be stopped. This means that either kill or Ctrl-C has to be used. In order to avoid this, a more advanced quit-mechanism should be introduced. Using a separate command topic for that seems to be a good option.

Aquileo | Detection of missed samples on reader side not supported

It would be nice to be able to detect samples that have been pushed out of the dataReader history. This would require sequence numbers added per instance and an administration that keeps track of the last sequence number for each instance. This is not scalable with respect to the number of keys used.

The Touchstone C main code is currently in one huge file. This has to be improved.

The tools are currently only available in C. It would be nice to have them in Java as well.

Aquileo | Reporting tools should have an option to write to file.

Watcher, Spotter, Errorlog and Excelerator always write to stdout. That is inconvenient, they should support writing to a file as well.
