Aquileo | CodeSnip v4.18.0 released - supports Delphi 11

This latest release of CodeSnip adds support for detecting and compiling with the newly released Delphi 11 Alexandria.

There are a few other minor changes - see the README.md file in the files tab for details.

Aquileo | CodeSnip v4.17.2 hotfix released

CodeSnip v4.17.1 has just been released. This is a hotfix release that fixes a potential vulnerability in the jQuery code used by the program's easter egg.

It's extremely unlikely this would have causes a problem, but better safe etc.!

Aquileo | CodeSnip v4.17.1 hotfix released

CodeSnip v4.17.1 has just been released. This is a hotfix release that makes changes to the "What's New" dialogue box that appears only when updating from a release of CodeSnip prior to v4.16.0.

These changes should have been included in v4.17.0.

Aquileo | CodeSnip v4.17.0 released

CodeSnip v4.17.0 has just been released. The changes in this release are:

Added support for test compilation with, and detection of, Delphi 10.2 Tokyo, Delphi 10.3 Rio and Delphi 10.4 Sydney compilers.
Updated documentation re changes.
Updated help file re changes.

Aquileo | CodeSnip v4.16.0 released

Just in time for the closure of the delphidabbler.com web server (see previous) post comes CodeSnip v4.16.0.

This version removes all dependencies on delphidabbler.com and the web services hosted there. Users are strongly recommended to update.

Note that support for all prior versions ceases with the release of v4.16.0.

Aquileo | Website / Web Service closure announced

The delphidabbler.com and codesnip.delphidabbler.com web sites and web servers are scheduled to close on, or shortly after, 15 June 2020.

Following that date none of the web servers used by CodeSnip 1 to 4 will cease working. This means that (a) it will no longer be possible to download the Code Snippets Database in its current form and program and database updates and CodeSnip news will no longer be accessible from CodeSnip.

Work is going ahead on a CodeSnip release that removes dependencies on the delphidabbler.com web server. It is planned to make the Code Snippets database available for download from GitHub. The plan is that the new CodeSnip release will be able to access this.

CodeSnip's Google+ page has been deleted in advance of Google finally pulling the plug on Plus.

Aquileo | CodeSnip v4.8.5 released

CodeSnip 4.8.5 has been released.

This update fixes a bug in the compiler directives that are written to generated source files when the user has elected to generate $WARN directives. The bug meant that affected code could fail to compile with Delphi XE5.

This is a recommended update

Aquileo | CodeSnip v3 Support Now Ended

Happy new year!

Just a reminder that support for CodeSnip 3 has now ended.

Please don't report any bugs you find in CodeSnip 3 or earlier, I'm afraid I won't fix them. Neither will any new features be added, and that includes support for new Delphi compilers as they are released.

So, if you're one of the very few still using CodeSnip 3, please update to the latest version, which you will find on the SourceForge Files Page.

Please note that most snippets added to the online Code Snippets Database will still be available to CodeSnip 3 users. I will probably maintain that support until the end of 2014.
