However, the file size does not change, i.e. even cropping half the page away does not change the file size. Is the cropped content actually discarded or does it stay hidden in the file? I am asking because of privacy issues - imagine if you have a scanned pdf with some remarks written on the margin that you want to cut away before publishing - in this case I want to make sure the cropped part can not be recovered .... <br /> Thanks for making briss available - it is a really helpful app!</p></div>

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04, I installed maven (sudo apt-get install maven2) and ran 'mvn clean install' in the briss directory.
