I'm using an old version of OPENSUSE Evergreen 11.4 along with MediaTomb. The other day, while starting Mediatomb, an error popped up in the terminal following a successful start. After, Mediatomb failed to run. Cannot find anything online to shed light on the error or it's cause. Can anyone tell me what it means and how to correct it? You can have multiple "-a /path/to/thing" and it will work. A better approach is to the put the paths into your config file. Or add them via the UI into the DB as autoscan paths. Also mediatomb is dead. Use Gerbera (https://gerbera.io) instead.

Bonjour, I used easytag to put some tags in a video file (mp4), but I can't see that mediatomb recognize them in order to classify the file in the database (author, album, date, etc.) like it is done for audio files. Did I miss something? Thank you for helping. F.P.

I have an Orange PI PC running Armbian, based on Ubuntu 16.04. I initially installed Mediatomb and my PS3 was able to see it as a media server and I could access the web interface. Somehow in the process of setting up my samba server and setting up a static IP address, I am not able to see it on my PS3 or access the web interface. What could I have changed that would disable Mediatomb? What are some first steps to fix it? Thanks!

I have an SmartTV who can reproduce all the video formats I have, except for H265 (H264 is all ok). My question is, those mkv containing h265 video, can be somehow detected and transcoded, and the h264 be just passed without transcoding? I ask this question because both valid H264 and invalid H265 are both in mkv format so I don't know how mediatomb can distinguish between them to only transcode one of them,if possible at all.

Hi, I've installed MediaTomb and enabled web interface. I'm allowed to connect, but it asks me first for username and password. And whatever I enter (nothing or credentials set in config.xml) and press Login button - nothing happens... I've checked twice all credentials, also tried with no user and no success.
