UBUNTU
Canonical today released the first monthly snapshot of the Ubuntu 26.10 "Stonking Stingray" release.

Besides the initial influx of updated packages from Debian following last month's Ubuntu 26.04 LTS release, there isn't too much in the way of exciting bits for Ubuntu 26.10 Snapshot 1. These monthly snapshots continue to be used for help in testing Ubuntu releases early as well as working through the Ubuntu release automation processes. As always, daily ISOs of Ubuntu Linux development versions are also available.

Ubuntu 26.10 isn't intended for any production use and just for testing, but if you want to give it a shot you can find the download details via today's mailing list announcement.

Ubuntu 26.10 Snapshot 2 is expected for release on 25 June. The official release of Ubuntu 26.10 is expected on 15 October while the feature freeze starts on 20 August, UI freeze on 10 September, and the beta release on 24 September. Lastly the kernel freeze is set to go into effect on 1 October with its planned Linux 7.2 kernel usage.
