TUXEDO Computers Switching TUXEDO OS From Ubuntu To Debian Testing

Bavarian Linux PC vendor TUXEDO Computers announced they are switching from Ubuntu to Debian as the base for their TUXEDO OS platform.

TUXEDO Computers announced today that "Ubuntu will no longer serve as the foundation of TUXEDO OS in the future." TUXEDO is leaving Ubuntu to better align with the hybrid release model of TUXEDO OS while Ubuntu LTS as a base quickly goes stale in terms of software updates. TUXEDO Computers also expressed distaste for the AI roadmap being pursued by Canonical for future Ubuntu releases.

TUXEDO Computers will be using Debian Testing as its base moving forward. Debian Testing is planned to be the permanent base for TUXEDO OS in order to continue delivering fresh software innovations.

TUXEDO OS will also be pursuing Btrfs file-system usage and other improvements.
