Tejas Networks On-Campus Recruitment Experience (October 2024) for Research and Development Role (C/C++)
Role: Research and Development (C/C++)
Eligibility Criteria: 80%+ throughout academics
Tejas Networks visited our campus for a pool campus hiring process specifically for the Research and Development role, focusing on C and C++. Below is a detailed breakdown of the rounds I experienced.
Round 1: Online Assessment (AON Platform)
The first round was conducted online on the AON platform and consisted of two sections:
Section 1: Aptitude & Verbal
This section assessed general aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal skills.
Section 2: Coding (Data Structures and Algorithms)
The coding section included three questions:
- A basic DSA problem.
- Another simple DSA problem.
- Add two numbers represented as linked lists (medium difficulty).
I successfully cleared this round.
Round 2: On-Campus Pool Hiring
The second round took place on campus and included students from multiple colleges. It was divided into two parts: Aptitude and Technical MCQs, followed by coding questions.
Part 1: Aptitude & Technical MCQs
This part contained 10 questions covering aptitude and technical multiple-choice questions in the following subjects:
- C/C++
- Operating Systems
- Computer Networks
Part 2: Coding
The coding section featured three questions:
- Basic string manipulation (easy).
- Related to the GCD of two numbers.
- Maximum path sum in a matrix, from the top-left to the bottom-right corner.
Although I was able to solve all the coding questions, I did not qualify for the next round. Out of over 500 students, only 21 were selected to proceed.
Round 3: Technical Interview
This round was purely technical, focusing on core subjects like Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and Data Structures. Some DSA questions were also posed to be solved on the spot.
Key Questions in This Round:
- Rotate a matrix clockwise.
- Calculate the sum of all elements of all subarrays of a given array.
Round 4: HR Interview
The final round was the HR interview, which primarily consisted of general HR questions, such as:
- Tell me about yourself.
- Why do you want to join Tejas Networks?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Conclusion
Although I performed well in the coding rounds, I could not advance beyond Round 2. The competition was fierce, with only 21 students shortlisted from a large pool of candidates. This recruitment process was an excellent learning experience, highlighting the importance of strong preparation in both technical and aptitude areas for R&D roles.
