Hi, I’d like to share my experience with the TCS Ninja role through the TCS NQT Exam and give insights into each stage of the process.
Recruitment Process Overview:
I participated in the TCS NQT as part of an on-campus placement drive. The process consisted of the following rounds, all of which were elimination stages:
- Online Assessment
- Technical + Managerial Round
- HR Interviews (conducted in a single combined round)
Timeline:
- Online Assessment: 3rd October 2024
- Results for Assessment: 28th October 2024
- Interview: 5th December 2024
- Final Selection: 12th December 2024
Round 1: Online Assessment at TCS iCON Centre
The written test was conducted online and focused on these key sections:
- Aptitude Questions: Numerical ability, logical reasoning, and verbal comprehension.
- Programming Questions: Two coding problems were included.
Tips:
- Allocate sufficient time to both aptitude and programming sections, as both are crucial for selection.
- Get comfortable solving problems in environments without code auto-completion (like Notepad or similar tools).
Round 2: Technical + Managerial Interview
After clearing the written exam, I was shortlisted for the combined interview round, which included technical, managerial, and HR panels in the same room, differentiated by interviewers.
A) Techincal Questions
I belong to a mechanical enginner student, so they asked this.
- Why did you choose Mechanical Engineering?
- What is TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)?
- Explain Lean Six Sigma.
- What is PDCA Cycle.
- Write an HTML code snippet to include a float input, integer input, and a submit button.
- Explain what is keyword in Java.
- How do you take input from a user in Java?
- What does psvm stand for in Java?
- How does ChatGPT work?
B) Managerial (MR) Questions
- Why are you transitioning from Mechanical Engineering to IT?
- Share some details about your family.
C) Human Resources (HR) Questions
- Are you open to relocating and working night shifts?
Final Outcome:
On 12th December 2024, I received an email confirming my selection for the TCS Ninja role. That's all. All the best for your interview.
