Last Updated : 24 Jun, 2025

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has selected candidates for the TCS Prime profile, offering an impressive package of 9 LPA, although those selected for the Ninja profile will receive a package of 3.33 LPA. This recruitment is taking place at Lovely Professional University for the 2025 batch. The TCS NQT exam is scheduled for October 2024, and the interview process will take place on 4th December 2024. This on-campus recruitment provides students with a valuable opportunity to join one of the world’s leading IT services companies.

How I Got the Interview Call

I registered for the TCS NQT (National Qualifier Test) through my college’s campus placement cell. After taking the test in October 2024, I was shortlisted for the TCS Prime interview round based on my performance, especially in the coding section, where I solved both questions.

Rounds of Selection

TCS NQT (Written Test)

Single Technical + Managerial + HR Interview (All combined in one) This test was conducted at a TCS iON center.

Round 1: TCS NQT (Written Test)

The test was divided into the following sections:

1.1 Aptitude & Reasoning

Verbal Ability

1.2 Coding Questions

  • Find the average of elements in an array.
  • Another medium-level array problem.

Obstacles: I was able to solve both questions within the time limit.

Round 2: Interview (1 Hour | Panel of 3)

1. Introduction

The panel started by asking me to introduce myself.

I shared details about my background, technical skills, and projects.

2. Technical Round

They asked me to solve the same coding question from the NQT test:

  • Find the average of elements in an array.
  • Follow-up questions:
    • What is an average?
    • Write the code and explain it line-by-line.

3. Project Discussion

  • I explained my major project in detail.
  • Tech used - Cloud services, backend APIs, database integration.
  • Follow-up Questions:
    • What is Cloud Computing?
    • Why do we need cloud platforms?
    • Real-world use cases of cloud technology.

4. AI/ML Basics

  • What is Artificial Intelligence?
  • What is Machine Learning?
  • Examples of ML applications (e.g., recommendation systems, fraud detection).

5. HR Questions

  • Why is your CGPA low?
  • How do you stay self-motivated despite setbacks?
  • What’s the difference between TCS Ninja, Digital, and Prime?
  • If selected for TCS Ninja, would you still join?

Final Result

Though I was interviewed for the Prime role (9 LPA), I was finally offered the TCS Ninja role (3.33 LPA). Still, it was a great experience and boosted my confidence.
