The year 2022 will always stay close to my heart — the year I appeared for the MHT-CET, a journey that taught me far more than just formulas or concepts. It was a mix of stress, hope, and small victories that shaped the way I look at hard work and life itself.
How It All Began
Like most students finishing 12th grade, I was caught between the pressure of board exams and the upcoming entrance tests. Everyone around me seemed to have their plans sorted -crash course, coaching classes, mock tests, and daily routines. I, on the other hand, was trying to find my rhythm.
At first, I was excited. The idea of getting into a good engineering college kept me motivated. But as time passed, managing both boards and MHT-CET prep became exhausting. Some days I studied with full focus, and other days, even opening the book felt heavy. Still, somewhere deep down, I knew giving up wasn’t an option.
The Struggles and Realisations
There were plenty of tough days when mock test scores disappointed me or when a single Physics chapter took hours to understand. I often felt I wasn’t doing enough. But over time, I realised that consistency mattered more than perfection. Even small efforts made daily slowly added up. I also learned that preparation isn’t just about academics; it’s about keeping your mind steady. I started taking short breaks, talking to my friends, and reminding myself that one bad test didn’t define my worth. Those small habits helped me stay balanced and motivated.
The Final Days Before the Exam
As the exam date drew closer, everything started to feel real. The countdown had begun, and every day felt crucial. I spent my time revising formulas, solving papers, and working on my weak topics. Sleep became irregular, and so did my appetite, but the determination kept me going. The night before the exam, I barely slept. My mind was full of "what ifs" - what if the paper is too hard, what if I forget everything, what if I don’t do well? Then I shifted my mind and told myself that the next day I am going to give my 100% . It was just me, my paper, and the effort I had put in over months. Also, I have heard from my friends who have completed the MHTCET that the exam was tough; they were not able to attempt all the physics questions asked.
After It Was Over
When the results came out, I didn’t get an extraordinary score, but I wasn’t heartbroken either. Instead, I felt proud. I had done my best, learned from my mistakes, and most importantly, completed the journey without giving up. That result might not have been perfect, but it was mine, and it represented every late-night study session, every breakdown, every comeback. I learned that success isn’t just about numbers; it’s about how much you grow through the process.
What MHT-CET Taught Me
Looking back, MHT-CET 2022 wasn’t just an exam - it was an experience. It taught me patience, consistency, and self-belief. It showed me that everyone’s journey is different, and comparison only steals your peace . I made memories along the way - studying with friends, sharing snacks during breaks, laughing after tough mock tests, and supporting each other through stress. Those small moments turned out to be the most precious part of the entire experience.
Final Thoughts
The year 2022 was truly a rollercoaster. It had its share of fear, frustration, and pressure, but it also gave me confidence and clarity. Even though I didn’t top the charts, I discovered a stronger, more focused version of myself . To anyone preparing for MHT-CET or any other exam,
I’d say this: "Don’t chase perfection. Focus on progress. Stay patient, believe in your process, and take care of yourself along the way , practice more , discuss the approach to solve the questions with friends , don't spend time procrastinating or doubting self this will not help . One exam can’t define you - your efforts, attitude, and resilience will. Life isn’t about one result. It’s about how you rise, learn, and move forward. MHT-CET 2022 wasn’t the end of my story - it was the beginning of a better one."
