JEE Mains Exam Experience | Cracking JEE Mains

Last Updated : 30 Dec, 2024

Preparing for JEE Mains, one of India’s most competitive exams, is not just about mastering academics—it’s about perseverance, learning from setbacks, and evolving as an individual. My journey embodies these values, shaped by challenges and a relentless determination to succeed.

The Beginning: A Self-Driven Approach

My preparation for JEE began in 11th grade, alongside managing my school curriculum. Unlike many of my peers, I opted for self-study over joining coaching classes. My focus was on covering the vast syllabus, and by the end of the year, I had completed almost all topics. However, I made a critical mistake:

  • I prioritized learning topics over conceptual understanding.
  • I didn’t dedicate enough time to practicing problems or diving deep into core concepts.

This oversight became evident as I transitioned into 12th grade.

Challenges in 12th Grade: Balancing Act

Balancing board exams and JEE preparation proved daunting. My lack of conceptual clarity and inadequate practice started to show, and my performance in both areas suffered. When I attempted JEE Mains in January, I managed to score only 63 percentile.

The disappointment was overwhelming—not just for me, but for my family and teachers. It felt like the lowest point in my journey. However, I made a decision: I wouldn’t let this failure define me.

Turning Things Around: Reflection and Strategy

After my first attempt, I took a step back to analyze my mistakes and redefine my approach:

  1. I began solving previous 10 years’ JEE question papers, focusing on understanding the logic and patterns behind the problems.
  2. I dedicated time to strengthen concepts I had overlooked.
  3. Regular practice became an integral part of my routine.

These efforts bore fruit in my second attempt at JEE Mains in April, where I scored 94 percentile—a significant improvement that validated my hard work and resilience.

A New Beginning: Choosing NIET Noida

Despite improving my JEE score, my 73% board percentage made me ineligible for admission to NITs. It was another setback, but I refused to let it deter me. Instead, I chose NIET Noida for my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).

What drew me to NIET was its:

  • Strong focus on technology, entrepreneurship, and placements.
  • Autonomous status and a vibrant campus environment.

I was also fortunate to secure a full waiver (FW) seat in the CSE branch, which further affirmed my decision.

From Student to Entrepreneur and Educator

Today, I am more than just a student. I have evolved into an entrepreneur and educator, wearing multiple hats:

  • I run my own IT services and consulting company, delivering innovative tech solutions.
  • I share my passion for programming by teaching on Instagram and YouTube.
  • My expertise spans various technologies, including Python, Java, AI, ML, Flutter, web development, and more.

What keeps me driven is my curiosity and commitment to constant learning and self-improvement. Whether it’s exploring a new programming language or developing AI-powered solutions, I embrace every opportunity to grow.

Looking Ahead: Aspiring for Greater Heights

My ultimate goal is to make a lasting impact as a visionary leader and innovator in the tech industry. To everyone facing setbacks, here’s my advice:

  • Failure is not the end—it’s a lesson. Learn from it and use it to fuel your passion.
  • Stay consistent in your efforts, keep practicing, and believe in your dreams.

Success is not about avoiding failure—it’s about rising stronger after every fall. Remember, the journey matters as much as the destination.

Conclusion

Your dreams are achievable with perseverance, learning, and self-belief. Challenges may test you, but they are also opportunities to grow. As I aim to conquer the tech world, I hope my story inspires you to embrace your journey, no matter how tough it gets.

Stay motivated, keep learning, and believe in yourself—because one day, you’ll conquer the world.
