Outdoor gear brand Cotopaxi is making travel more colorful and sustainable with the debut of its hardside luggage. While the brand has long made travel packs and duffel bags, the Coraza collection marks its foray into more traditional luggage styles. The line includes a carry-on and medium-sized checked suitcase, both outfitted with smooth-glide rolling wheels, and true to the brand’s ethos of sustainability, the luggage uses a GRS-certified recycled polycarbonate shell. The smart details, durable materials and vibrant colors make it a unique, performance-driven evolution of the brand’s signature travel gear.

Founded in 2014, Cotopaxi is known for its bags and apparel in bold color palettes. The brand claims a deep commitment to sustainability and humanitarian causes, frequently using deadstock fabrics and donating 1% of annual revenue to nonprofits supporting disadvantaged communities. Read on to learn more about the latest launch, and keep an eye out for our full review of the collection, coming soon.

Customize To Your Style And Needs

The carry-on measures 22 x 14.5 x 9.5 inches and weighs 8.5 pounds ($295), while the checked suitcase measures 30 x 18 x 10.25 inches and weighs 12 pounds ($345). Both are on the heavier side, but offer generous capacity—36 liters and 90 liters respectively—and removable packing cubes let you adjust the space as needed.

Aligning with the brand’s playful aesthetic, the luggage comes in lavender, blue-green or glossy black, for those who prefer a subtler look. That said, the wheels are anything but subtle, with six colors: hot pink, citron yellow, coral red, flame orange, sky blue and vivid lilac, all of which you can mix and match to contrast with the polycarbonate shell.

Designed For Wear And Tear

The Coraza is also designed for function as well as form: Damaged wheels can be swapped out with just an Allen wrench, and Cotopaxi will replace them at no cost. The brand also opted for a TSA-approved lock-and-latch closure that’s also replaceable and code-access only.
