Hah, this is great! Was complimented on the quality of my "Redux Testing" post, and I pointed it out it was just a transcript of me chatting. Reply: > Quite funny that your discord replies are better than some companies official documentation new personal slogan? :)

forget this "reverse an array", "fizbuzz", or "write a binary tree" nonsense. a real interview would be "you are given a broken function, an error message, and access to Google searches and Github issues. find out what the hacky workaround based on issue comments and fix it"

I continue to be amazed at how many learners seem to almost deliberately avoid reading the actual official docs for the tools they're trying to use. I keep seeing folks asking for Udemy courses and "best tutorials" and stuff. Why do people avoid reading actual docs?

As a library maintainer in the React ecosystem, I'm getting pretty frustrated by the churn around React Server Components. Really starting to question whether the touted benefits are worth the pain being inflicted on lib maintainers:

"Guide to React Rendering Behavior" is my most popular / appreciated post. I frequently get thanks for writing it - people say it's incredibly helpful and ought to be part of the actual React docs. I've just updated it to cover React 18! +2000 new words

I moderate the /r/reactjs subreddit. I just posted an announcement that we'll be shutting down the sub June 12-14 to join the protest against Reddit's API pricing changes and killing of 3rd-party apps:
