Monthly invoicing is a payment setting where Google extends you a line of credit, allowing you to run ads and use other linked Google products without immediate payment. You are sent a monthly invoice to repay these costs based on agreed terms and conditions, typically using a check, bank transfer, or another payment method available in your location.

How it works
When you first apply for Google Ads monthly invoicing, Google provides a credit line (also called a credit limit) to cover your advertising costs and costs from all other Google products and services linked to your payments profile. Your credit line represents the maximum value of all Google products and services you can use before payment is required, functioning similarly to a credit limit provided by credit card companies.
Example
Your payments profile is linked to both your Google Ads account and your Google Cloud account. Google extends you a credit line for $100,000 USD. This $100,000 USD will cover any costs you incur from Google Ads and Google Cloud.
Available payment methods and currency
The credit line is usually approved in your local currency. However, in some countries, you may have the flexibility to choose a different currency for your Google Ads account.
Key features of credit lines for monthly invoicing
- Updates over time: The credit line is updated over time and considers elements such as your account’s spend levels and payment history.
- Balance components: Your balance includes all unpaid costs, covering both invoiced and not yet invoiced charges across all accounts using your monthly invoicing payments profile
- Credit calculation: To calculate your available credit, use the following formula:
- Managing your limit: If you have opted into receiving payments-related emails, Google will notify you by email when your credit limit is almost reached. Here are 2 main ways to address it:
- Pay overdue or open invoices to free up existing credit.
- Request to increase your current limit, by replying to the warning email or contacting your Google representative
Benefits
- Extended credit: You can accrue costs and pay later, rather than pre-paying or being charged automatically
- Payment terms: You'll need to pay off your balance within your payment terms (typically 30 days, depending on country).
- Centralized control: Centralized billing management across multiple Google Ads accounts and other Google products
- Predictable payment schedule: You receive an invoice each month for your advertising costs, typically with standard payment terms (for example, net 30 days). This simplifies accounting and cash flow management.
