You can streamline your creative workflow from generating design ideas in Gemini Apps to managing assets and collaborating on projects in Canva. When you connect Canva to Gemini Apps, you can ask Gemini to help you:
- Create new designs based on your prompt
- Access your designs, templates, and project files
- Move assets between different folders
- List and reply to comments on designs
- Generate images in Gemini and edit them in Canva
What you need
To connect Canva to Gemini Apps, you need to:
- Be signed in to the Gemini app with a personal Google Account. This feature isn’t available if you sign in to a work or school Google Account. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
- Have a Canva account.
- Have Keep Activity on. Gemini can’t connect to Canva when this setting is off.
Important: For now, the Canva app is:
- Only available in English.
- Only available in the Gemini mobile app and the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com.
- Not available in certain features, like Gems or Live chats.
Connect Canva to Gemini Apps
- On your phone or tablet, open the Gemini mobile app or go to gemini.google.com.
- Ask the Gemini app to list your folders in Canva.
- Tip: Mention “Canva” or add
@Canvato your prompt.
- Tip: Mention “Canva” or add
- If Canva isn’t connected, you’ll get the option to connect it.
- To use the Canva app in Gemini Apps, your Canva account must be linked to your Google Account. If it isn’t, you’ll get the option to link it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

- Use the Canva app to create a design for a wedding invitation. The theme is rustic with a color palette of dusty rose and sage green.
- Generate an image of a cat riding a unicorn and use it to generate a business card design in Canva

What you can do with the Canva app in Gemini Apps

- List all pages from a document, like a presentation
You can ask Gemini Apps to help you review and reply to comments on a Canva design. For example, you can ask Gemini to:
- List comments for a design
- List replies for a specific comment
- Add a comment to a design
- Reply to an existing comment on a design
Important: When you choose to connect Canva to Gemini Apps, you will have the option to select which Canva Team to use. Please select one that has access to an Enterprise plan for the following features.
If you’re subscribed to a Canva Enterprise plan, you can ask Gemini Apps to perform actions that are only available to Enterprise accounts, like:
- Resize a design to a new dimension
- Search for available brand templates
- Autofill a brand template with a dataset
- Get the dataset schema for a brand template
Disconnect the Canva app
Important: If you disconnect the Canva app, it doesn't unlink your Canva account from your Google Account. Gemini won't use your Canva account while the app is disconnected.

Unlink your Canva account from your Google Account
In the Gemini mobile app- On your phone or tablet, open the Gemini mobile app

- Under “Canva,” tap Learn more.
- Tap Disconnect.

- Under “Canva,” click Learn more.
- Click Disconnect.

What Gemini can’t do with the Canva app
Gemini Apps can’t perform certain actions in the Canva app for you, like:
- Manage your Brand Kit assets, like uploading logos, custom fonts, or color palettes
- Export designs in different formats
- Get user reviews and ratings
- Get your account billing or upgrade information
